"And you're sure you checked everywhere"

"Yes. I checked everywhere. There was no letter"

Wonyoung sighed in frustration. "It's been 3 days. I thought they said they would write a letter back. 

"Maybe they're too busy 'recruiting' our friends" Yuri said sarcastically. 

"What do you think they're doing with them?" Nako asked.

The room went silent. 

"I'm going to go check again" Wonyoung said.

"I'm coming with you" Minju said without hesitating.

"You know we all are" Yuri said. The friend group followed.

The friend group huddled around the fountain. Wonyoung held out her phone to make it look like they were taking selfies.  

Minju checked under. 

"There's a note!" She exclaimed. 

"What are you waiting for? Pull it out?" Minju reached her arm forward and pulled out a note. As soon as she saw the contents of the note.

"What?" 

"It's another code"

"This isn't our cipher anymore. This is a whole new code entirely" Chaeyeon observed

Minju's shoulders drooped.

"Oh, don't worry. This is exactly the type of thing spy training prepared me for. Give me a pen and paper and a few minutes and we can do it"

The found a place to sit down and Chaeyeon started decoding. Wonyoung watched over her shoulder, explaining that she was actually interested in the process of codebreaking.

Sure enough, a few minutes later, Chaeyeon read out loud.

"Congratulations on finding this note! We're assuming you'll have no problem solving this code. You're one step closer to getting your troop back. We wish we could say we have confidence in you. Our tests only get harder. Because, see, we really don't want to let your troop go, so why would we make it easy? But for now, we'll keep it easy. We want you to send us another letter. In a code of your choice. Anything. We can decode it. Leave it in the same place as last time. Got it? WT."

"Wait, so what do they want us to write in this letter?" Nako asked.

"Maybe we should try to convince them to give us our girlfriends back" Yuri said.

"That's not going to work"

"Yeah, but it'll show our determination"

"I have an idea" Hitomi said "We can say something along the lines of "You think you know who you're messing with, but you really dont" technically it's true - they seemed to have learned everything about your spy agency. But they're not the ones solving this. Maybe it'll scare them"

"Smart" Nako nodded.

"And what should we do for the code?" Minju asked.

"Maybe make it coded, but the words are backward?" Wonyoung suggested.

"But wouldn't that be impossible?" Nako questioned.

"They said they can solve anything" Wonyoung raised her eyebrows.

"Really show them they don't know who they're messing with"

Chaeyeon nodded. "I have a few different ciphers you can use, then reverse"

"Let's go"
