Finding you (Sequel to secretive)

Chapter 6: Tick tock

"I checked the location - and Minju came up with 5 scouting points" Wonyoung said. "Nako is going to go here, because only a person that short could fit-"

Nako glared.

"Hitomi will be at this corner, away from Nako so that our lovebirds aren't just staring at each oth-"

Nako glared again; this time joined by Hitomi.

"What, it's the truth? I'll be over here, Minju will be over here, and Yuri will be here. And of course, Chaeyeon will be discovering"

"We have signals for each type. If Chaeyeon waves her hands frantically, it's a setup. If she makes a come here gesture, that means it's where they are. And if she raises one hand, that means it's a treasure hunt. For an attack, go there to backup, for a finding, come there for backup in case they're inside, and for a treasure hunt... you know what, just go there when Chaeyeon gives the signal" Wonyoung sighed "That's everything, right?"

Chaeyeon nodded "I believe so"

"We're going at 4, right?" Yuri asked.

"Yup" Minju said. It was currently 2:00, and her heart was pounding. Would they be able to save everyone?

3:50...

Minju had been staring at the clock for almost two hours now.

"We should go now - how else are we going to make it at 4:00?" Wonyoung said, clearly voicing everyone elses concerns.

"Yeah" Yuri said weakly "We should go"

Minju was standing outside her post, trying to act casual.

She had her phone out, to try to make it look like she was just chilling. But in reality, her eyes were glued to Chaeyeon, terrified of what she might find.

She could tell Chaeyeon was trying to act casual too. But she was probably better at it. Minju watched as she pretended to fall into the bushes and drop something in order for a chance to search the bushes.

That's smart. Minju thought. 

Chaeyeon was trying to hide it, but Minju could tell she was frustrated. Wherever this clue led, Chaeyeon seemed like she was having trouble finding it.

Minju began to worry. What if this wasn't meant for them? What if they had messed up? What if the clue was just a distraction and nothing was there?

We didn't create a signal in case nothing was there... Minju thought.

Chaeyeon paced around the corner, her eyes wandering. 

And then, suddenly, her eyes lit up.

She has an idea. Minju reassured herself. 

But what if that idea doesn't work?

Chaeyeon slowly turned behind the bush in an area that Minju couldn't see.

Minju carefully scooted to the very edge of the bench to try to see more. 

She could see Chaeyeon's foot.

Minju made eye contact with Yuri, whose post was closest to hers, trying to communicate If she disappears, I go, and if I go, you go.

Minju could hear rustling in the bush. 

Please, don't disappear on us?

Chaeyeon slowly pulled herself out from behind the bush.

Minju's eyes met hers, waiting to see if Chaeyeon had found something - if she had, she would send the signal

Chaeyeon raised her arm.

Minju couldn't tell whether she was nervous or relieved.

That was the sign saying they had found a new clue. 

And sure enough, in Chaeyeon's hand was a tiny, folded piece of paper.
