White marble columns trembled, the cracks forming in the immovable stone oozing out viscous ink that stained the floor black. In the dimly lit Champion's Chamber of her dreams, the dazzling lights moved as Soni did, the sound of her footsteps echoing in the silence. The fractured crystal headdress shone bright, despite the reaching shadows that tugged on her Ceremonial Crown Cloak. She stepped on them and walked on, even as they pulled on her sleeves to bring her away from the scene like a warning. Her white sleeves billowed around her like a ghost that refused to leave the earth they roamed as she kept moving forward.

Then, everything around her transformed. Banners of white unfurled from above with the heart symbol on display. Rising from the earth were wooden stands, curved in some shape or form that added a tinge of strangeness to it. As the trumpet began to play, the chorus of phantom voices called out around her.

"All hail for Her Majesty, Queen of Hearts!"

"Let her reign be long, immortalized in glory!"

And yet, despite their cheers, Soni saw nothing but a gigantic dark spot on the highest position in the courtroom. Much to her surprise, there was someone else there. Someone dressed in the Alice outfit that she wore the other day, this person stared up into the pitch black that swallowed any and all light. Yet as though to defy that very expectation, a spotlight coming from nowhere was focused on them and them alone. Even that could not take away the shadows that obscured their features, determined to cover their identity.

That did not matter. Not when this Alice shouted, "You're nothing more than a tyrant!"

"How dare you challenge the queen's judgment!"

"What do you know?!"

"Commoner! Plebeian!"

The invisible crowd around her erupted into shouts and demands, coming from everywhere all at once. Demeaning the only one amongst them who challenged authority while praising the oppressive force that hung over all of them- wasn't that foreshadowing of what was to come in the real world? With each step forward, little trails of light followed behind before blinking out of existence.

Despite the words directed their way, the child did not falter, standing tall at the insults, "Are you not ashamed of yourself?!"

"Off with their head!" Shadowy tendrils barbed with thorns stretched from where the queen was seated, whipping themselves to the sole person who rejected the rules.

"No, you won't." Soni put her hand on the Alice's shoulder.

Her fractured crystal crown flashed multiple colors before releasing a dazzling light show that illuminated everything in an instant. Stray beams of light scattered across the darkness that covered the face of the queen, letting out a warped, yet piercing scream that sent the card soldiers tumbling away from the blast.
