NOTE: Wattpad doesn't allow crossed out words, which are an important part of this chapter. To try and preserve the original meaning of the chapter, I decided to underline it for the sake of clarity. Another way to view the chapter in its true form is by going onto my AO3 or Quotev, although I personally prefer the former over the latter.

Happy reading everyone! Here's Chapter 10 after a long wait.

A new school year came with a new set of unruly dogs to train.

That much Divus Crewel knew as the long-suffering Potions Professor of Night Raven College. They would all come to the school and be hellions before he taught them how to behave. That by itself would take a considerable amount of time. Thus, when the Headmaster had appointed a young lady as a teaching assistant in an all-boys magic academy who had prides as high as their tempers, Crewel was sure that the crow bastard was up to no good. He wasn't wrong to think that way. Given how vicious their students could be on a good day, he made sure to keep an eye on their newest staff member.

Seven forbid how they were on a terrible one.

His first impression of Soni Monet was that she was polite and quiet, traits that weren't all that useful in a school like Night Raven College. People like that had a tendency to be walked over or taken advantage of. From what he knew of the girl at the time, the latter was the more likely of the two options. Unlike the mutts who occasionally looked at her for a second too long, she never went beyond that professional mask as a teaching assistant and was harmless as a magicless person could be in this institution, which was to say, very much in the line of a helpless puppy.

A diligent little puppy who was confused but determined– that was what he believed her to be.

As such, Divus Crewel readied himself for another long year of disciplining the rambunctious dogs while making sure the little stray pup that the Headmaster brought in would be kept safe from being torn apart. He had half a mind to snap his crop at the lazy cat that slept through the lesson, but the rest of Soni's familiars were very well-behaved for the most part. None of the mutts had approached her. Although that may have been due to the incident that followed after classes, what with that Trappola boy running out and Soni skating right behind him.

That was the first sign that things weren't what they seemed to be, but Divus chalked it up to her being dedicated to fulfilling her tasks, even though he did question where those skates came from.

By the end of the day, Soni Monet had been given the privilege of attending Night Raven College as a half student to that cat monster, gaining the title of Dorm Head of Ramshackle Dorm in the shortest amount of time ever recorded. That had been something that the Headmaster had texted the teachers about in the late hours of the night, only adding the fact that she'd need school uniforms for all her classes and that she would continue to gain credit in those classes while working as a teaching assistant.
