Third person POV

"An old friend?" Harley asked, "What does that mean?"

"It means..." Selene trailed off, "We used to work together."

"What do you want?" Harley asked,

"It's none of your concern. I just need to talk to y/n. And you have somewhere to be by midnight, am I right?" Selena said,

Harley nodded, but still couldn't trust Selena, "I can't leave you alone with her."

"If I wanted to kill her-" Selena started,

"You would have already." Harley finished, and rolled her eyes, "Wow, you sure do have the tough guy thing down."

"Can you focus for a minute?" Selena huffed, "Go get the kid. I'll take care of y/n."

Harley bit her lip and glanced at the clock. Selena was right. She was running out of time. She didn't trust Selena, but she didn't exactly have a lot of options.

"I know how to help her." Selena said desperately.

Harley finally gave in, "Fine."

Selena looked relieved, and nodded.

"When I come back, if anything had happened to y/n, I'll inject jello into your veins and watch it turn your blood solid." Harley threatened.

Selena raised an eyebrow, "Right."

With that, Harley left.

When the door shut behind her, Selena turned to y/n. They stood over her, a mix of emotions flooding through them. Mostly regret.

They placed a hand on the side of her face, "You're gonna be ok."

They went into the small kitchen, getting a rag and a bowl to clean the wound again. They rummaged around for alcohol to stop any kind of infection. The click of a gun stopped them cold.

"y/n." Selene guessed,

"What are you doing here?" Y/n asked in a shaking voice, "Where's Harley."

"Harley's fine." Selena said, turning slowly, their hands in the air. y/n was standing across the counter, holding herself up with one hand, aiming a gun at their face with the other.

"Why are you here?" Y/n asked again,

"I'm just here to help." Selena said cautiously,

"I don't want your help." y/n hissed,

"That's too bad." Selena said, walking towards her.

y/n raised the gun again, and they stopped, "I'm your only option right now."

"I can take care of myself thanks. I learned how to do that after you betrayed me." y/n said,

"Are you gonna shoot me y/n?" Selene asked steadily.

Y/n's lips curled into a snarl, fingering the trigger. She wanted to, but how could she? After all they had been through. She lowered the gun. Selena breathed a sigh of relief.

"Leave." y/n said,

"y/n-" Selena started,

"LEAVE" Y/n shouted,

Selena started slowly towards the door. There was a crash behind them. When they turned to look, y/n was on the ground. Selena walked briskly back over to her, and bent to help.

"Don't touch me." y/n growled,

"Don't be such a baby." Selena said, "We can fight this out when you aren't bleeding to death."

"I haven't lost that much blood." Y/n said stubbornly, "I could still kick your ass."

Selena laughed, "Sure."

They helped her to the bed, and made her sit. Selena crawled onto the bed behind her, with the bottle of alcohol, rag and water, and a fresh bandage. And a tool for getting bullets out.

"You know, most people have forks in their kitchen cabinets, maybe some nice mugs. Not forceps and bullet extractors." Selena said, sterilizing her tools.

Y/n grunted.

"This might sting a bit." They said, pouring the alcohol on the wound.

Y/n was used to it. She usually removed the bullets herself, but this one would have been hard to reach.

"This is just like the good old days." Selena said,

"Why are you here?" Y/n asked again,

"Really? No 'hey Selena how ya doing?'" Selena said sarcastically,

"I don't really care." Y/n snapped back, then sucked in a breath as Selena began probing for the bullet.

"That's not true." Selena said, "I know you've thought about us since then."

Y/n ignored that comment. Of course she had thought about it.

"I know I have." Selena said,
"I thought you retired." Y/n said,

"I did." Selena said, "Until Waller didn't hold up her end of the deal."

"Right. So you sold me out for nothing." Y/n said,

At that Selena was quiet.

"So who are you working for?" Y/n asked,

"Actually, your boss just killed my boss." Selena stated plainly.

"Ah. Mr. Keo?" Y/n asked,

"Yeah. The Golden Lions." They said,

"Yikes." Y/n said, "Heard he lost his face."

"Yep." They said, popping the p.

"You didn't answer my question." Y/n said seriously, "Why are you here?"

"Making amends." They replied.

"You think this is amends?" Y/n said, "Why are you really here?"

"I'm being serious y/n. Just saw you needed help." Selena said,

"Ok. Well after this, don't come around again." Y/n said, "Because next time I won't need your help. And I will shoot you."
Y/n pursed her in pain as Selena plucked out the bullet.

"That was a long time ago." Selena said bitterly,

"That doesn't mean what you did wasn't wrong." Y/n shot back.

"Oh grow up!" Selena stood up angrily, "We were assassins. It was part of the job."

"We were kids!" Y/n shouted, "I trusted you!"

"And I did what I had to do to survive!" Selena yelled, "You think I wanted to do it? I was scared y/n! I saw a way out, and I took it. You would have done the same thing."

Y/n stared her down, "I would never betray a friend like that."
