"Wine or whisky Sir?" the waiter asked a black haired handsome fellow seated on one of the chairs; classical music playing in the background. The waiter's gaze halted to a stop at the man's piercing black eyes. Cold.He looked gorgeous wearing a black tuxedo; his chest and arm muscles bulging from underneath the expensive clothing; just enough to leave something to the imagination. Guess his tux was a bit too small for him?
He was gorgeous alright, like a male stead; wild but graceful. But those eyes... it was Intimidating? To say the least. The feeling of uneasiness passed as the black haired man replied with "Red Wine please, thankyou."
The waiter scurried off making a mental note to check if the person was angry, or just looked that way.
Well the truth was, he wasn't angry. Just a bit... annoyed? Changbin didn't want to be here in another one of his father's ball turned into secret meetings. Usually his father would do elaborate balls on the weekends to hid his nefarious underground schemes. Not that Changbin knew about it; but he also knew something was going on.
He didn't want to be here because his father wanted him to Number one: Make himself known as the mayor's son; Number 2: Find himself a goddamn wife among the many balls his father painstakingly arranges for him.
This is ridiculous.Changbin huffed up to his black raven haired bangs. His bangs went all the way to the middle of his eyes; covering his eyebrows. He made a mental note to have his bangs cut sometime this week. It was getting way too long; people might think he is scarier than he actually is. He always had a clean haircut though so it won't be a problem.
"Hi..." a woman's voice said; confident and in a sing song voice. Not again. Changbin exhaled and looked at who greeted him. He plastered a fake smile for good measure so as to appear... "friendly".
"Changbin right? It's been too long! I'm Patricia, your ummm... highschool classmate? Remember me? We used to hang out at lunch together!"
Lunch. Huh. That's a new one. As far as memory goes, Changbin ate alone during lunch time during highschool days. He nodded though to keep up the act.
The girl didn't look bad. She looked stunning with blond curls going all the way down her shoulders, and twinkling blue eyes. If his father were to check, it would be a yes. It would be worth a try to get to know this lady from the upper brackets of society. It's just that... Changbin does not care; or sadly, would not even dare to care. Why would he even bother? To be wed at the young age of 24? He wanted to do so much more than sire children. He wanted adventure. He wanted something else.
"Oh, Patricia ummm... may I ask for your last name?" Changbin faked a smile that would pass as endearing, if not for his cold eyes. I'm not interested but, okay I'll play along. The girl's eyes twinkled with hope that Changbin might be interested in her (for she is interested in his family's status I suppose).
The girl went on with the conversation. Changbin was great at pretending to be a good listener. Well, in truth he was a good listener in retrospect, again, IF he cared. But for things like these, flitting and unnecessary, he was just good at putting those meaningless conversation on one ear and out the other. He was a pro at this.
Changbin's thoughts were lazy. All I usually do is make simple talk. Let the lady talk all she wants about her family, about how the weather is great, about how she topped her class and graduated Summa cum fucking laude in whatever school she went in. Nod, say a few jokes to humor her. Compliment her dress? Her family heirloom she's wearing around her neck? Take her to dance. Make a few more jokes. Pretend to listen as she falls prey. Easy.
"May I have this dance?" Changbin asked. At the corner of his father's eye; Mayor Seo, the most powerful man in the city, saw his son Changbin ask for the lady to dance. Which, for most parents of high status, would be something to rejoice for, but not for Mayor Seo.
