A week before the hybrid winter examinations, Hyunjin let Felix have the whole week off from training. No more trainings, but he still had body guard duties during the day. Hyunjin and Lee Know decided to place him on day duty so he could have rest at night. Hyunjin advised he can still read for the theoreticals but to not overdo it.
"The examinations are... not something you will expect. So it's best to just take this time to fully rest." The red haired told Felix. Felix was grateful for that. The past few weeks of training were harsher than the usual. Lee Know especially was harsh. After the incident were he almost won, Lee Know never let Felix get past getting three flags. The other combat styles were also harder to learn, but Felix persevered.
Felix was about to end his shift, meaning it would be Lee Know's turn, when the doorbell rang.
The maids were in a frenzy and hurriedly opened the door. In came a man, probably in his early fifties, with gray and black hair, a mustache and eyes that had a similarity to... well, Changbin. He walked with an air of superiority, and along with him were his own set of body guards.
The room fell into silence. The Phoenix members were all present at the moment. Felix followed suit as he watched the Phoenix Wing members bow to the man who was Mayor Seo, Changbin's father. Along with him were his tall bodyguards. Felix noted there were also five of them; the wolf hybrid seemingly looking at his direction.
"Father, long time no see. What brings you here with no notice?" Changbin raised an eyebrow. But he still bowed respectfully; his eyes burned with what seemed to Felix, was annoyance.
Mr. Seo took off his coat and gave it to one of the maids; not even caring to thank them.
"Oh nothing. Can't a father visit his son every once in awhile? I see you haven't changed this place one bit." He said as he scanned the place and wrinkled his nose. Felix could already feel the tension in the air.
"I see you haven't changed at all too, Father. Always barging in without even calling me first."
"Tut, tut. I'll be here quick. I have other matters to be concerned about. I won't even be staying for dinner. Can we make this conversation short... and somewhere... private?" his father asked; staring down his own son. No one seemed to be backing down. Changbin won't budge an inch but finally slumped his shoulders.
"Alright. Let's go up to the library then." Changbin said and lead the way, with his father and his bodyguards in tow.
Felix noted that none of the Phoenix Wing members went up with him to the second floor. They left Changbin with all these other men that looked dangerous?
"Psst." Felix whispered to Jeongin; clearly confused.
"What?" asked the fox. All of them were still quiet. "Oh, don't worry. That was the Mayor; Changbin's father. He very rarely visits Changbin, and when he does, Changbin isn't usually thrilled about him coming over." Jeongin explained.
"Why did none of us accompany Changbin?" Felix asked; worry in his voice. Usually they accompanied him everywhere, especially when he had urgent business to attend to.
"Oh, because he is more protected with his father's body guards right near him. You saw the ones who are accompanying Mayor Seo right? They are called The Swords. Five of the best of the best! They are really cool." Jeongin said with excitement in his eyes.
"Their leader JB, is a bear hybrid and is very exceptional. I heard he saved Mayor Seo too many times to count! And Jackson, the wolf hybrid is also popular. They are very good in combat! I heard that he was a prodigy, passing all the exams with the highest scores during his time! The others are just as talented! He is the safest with them around."
