CODY'S POV
My eyelids suddenly grew heavy and it was if I couldn't hold them open anymore. They closed. But I can't sleep. I have to find her, I can't rest till I do! My eyes slowly opened back up, in a weak state. I began to hallucinate. I saw her, she was with me, right by my side but as I quickly reached out to touch her beauty she disappeared and my hand fell to the concrete beneath me. A tear fell down my face as I whispered the words I have been holding from her so long "I need you" I heavily whispered. My thoughts shifted as I heard a loud siren. It was a firetruck. Driving by me with such force. I quickly sat up and hurried after the truck. Looking for any sign of her. I can't run, but I try. The truck got to far in front of me and I didn't know where to go next. I feel so lost. My attention is drawn away from my pity and back to the firetruck when a faint smell of smoke fills my nose. I follow the smell. It takes me down quite a few streets and around a corner until I see it. The site in which the smoke is emitting. It was his house. Emmy's dad. He was being pulled out of the back building of the house on a stretcher. I had never seen him so still and innocent. A fireman near by finally noticed me watching and began to walk towards me. "Hey, son! Do you know anything about this" he began. He must have noticed my tear-stained cheeks as he said it in a sympathetic tone. "Um, no sir" my voice cracked on every word. "But-" I started but quickly stopped myself. No, I don't want him feeling sorry for me. "What is it bud? You can tell me, I'm not the cops" he was obviously joking but I made me feel a little more calm. "I need her-" I was cut off by a fierce women with fiery hair. She was crying and had a scared look on her face. "This was the boy who started the fire, and killed my beloved husband" she said as she shot me a mocking glare. "Wha-" I was cut off once again as the cops began to shuffle around me. I was cuffed and shoved into the back of the police car. "Anything you say can and will be used against you in court" the cop said sternly. "B-bu- it wasn't me" I finally got the words out. The cop shot me a glare. "You'll have time to explain yourself downtown, son" he sharply said and the car began to move.
