I woke up the next morning to loud laughter in the kitchen. I got up and rubbed the sleep from my eyes. I was wearing the same clothes from the night before, they still had a little blood on them. I glanced at the clock to make sure I wasn't unacceptably late for school. 6:30 a.m. okay, I had a lot of time since Jenna's house was close to the school.
I walked into the kitchen to find Jenna and Sam cooking breakfast. Well, Sam was cooking, Jenna was just eating things before he could put it on one of the three plates in front of him. The smell was amazing.
"Holy Hell, I didn't know you could cook," I stood before one of the plates.
"You learn something new everyday!" He smiled, though any idiot could see he was smiling at Jenna, "Eggs, biscuits, and bacon. Eat up!"
"Don't forget the coffee!" Jenna rushed to get mugs. What a dysfunctional family we make. I took my plate and mug of fresh coffee to the table and started eating.
Sam and Jenna took their plates and kept flirting for the entirety of breakfast.
After breakfast, I took a five minute shower and borrowed some of Jenna's clothes and we set off for school. The walk was quite short, except of course for the long ass driveway. I showed up to art on time, of course I didn't have my backpack but I can get through one day without it. I threw away my drawing of the garden and started on a new project. I wouldn't let Sam see, because it might not happen and also Jenna would kill me if I suggested she had a crush.
