The students continued to look around still trying to gauge each other's reactions, as most of them were bewildered at what they had just been told.

"Kill each other?" This isn't a joke? I mean, you usually see this kind of thing in movies or comics, but... Is this happening?

The atmosphere grew tense, causing most students to stiffen up. However, the two transfer students in the back remained unfazed, appearing bored with Miss Annette's presence. "Now, let's- oh wait! Silly me I almost forgot something very important, hold tight for a moment children."

Miss Anette said in a calm and collected tone, as she did before with a sight hint of concern that would make anyone think that she actually cared about the student's wellbeing and livelihood. She walked back to the blackboard, picked up the white chalk, and began drawing something to the right of the previous information, continuing her speech. It took her about a minute to finish drawing a small diagram of what looked like a map and some words next to it. The words in question were Palmyra Atoll.

After placing the chalk down once more and walking back to the students she would begin explaining. "This is a rough diagram. A rough diagram of what? you may be so inquisitive to know. Well if you simply must know it's the island we're currently on, its name is none other than the great Palmyra Atoll. As we've already stated previously it's been inhabited for a while, and because it's a decent size as well as owned by the Greater United States the higher-ups thought, well to heck with it let's use it!" Once again, Miss Annette's enthusiastic tone captivated the students as she continued her explanation, that in itself made the students shiver a bit as she continued her explanation after what seemed like a couple of blank seconds of her monitoring her watch. "Indeed, now we make haste. You see these bags right there my children?" She would ask and point to the duffel bags in the back that were neatly stacked atop the other on what looked like a medium-sized clothing rack.

The way she pointed and asked reminded Nathan of the children's TV shows he used to watch as a child such as Clowny's fun time party playhouse and Moony with no chance. Both of the shows had over-the-top bizarre melodramatic acting all with people decked out in clown outfits and outlandish outfits all performing under the pretense of making kids smile, or at least that's what they were supposed to do, had the children not been so terrified of the actors playing the characters for how "scary" they looked. "The black ones are your equipment bags, they each come equipped with different randomized weapons, and in the small blue ones right next to them you each get 2 pieces of bread and 1 large container of water, I don't get paid to measure so figure out how much it is yourselves. These will not be refilled, nor replenished so we ask that you make them count. As for the weapons, we made it random to give everyone a 50/50 chance, so not everyone will receive a gun or even a melee weapon, but almost everything has a use or purpose, either way, it's as they always say anything can have purpose it just depends on how you use it. That same rule applies to you all, so good luck, and remember you're the example for all the other naughty students to follow. The game's results, reports, and bits of footage will be released for all of the public to see afterward.

After all, it wouldn't make sense for us to not broadcast it since we are you know trying to better society by putting you little rotten children in your place. She would say with a slight grin before continuing. "Now then with all that out of the way, we'll begin calling you up one by one to receive your items, and for the ladies, you also get to keep your hygiene items just in case." It was only a couple of seconds after she'd finished the jest of lecture before a faint laugh could be heard amongst the crowd of students most of which had been unsure of how to react with the others remaining in place. The dry almost condescending laugh came from none other than Evan Williams (Boy No.20). "Mmm? What's so funny dear, care to share with the rest of the class?" Ms. Annette said in a direct, stern, and authoritative manner.

Even if the class had not known her for long enough, it was clear to anybody to tell by the tone of her voice that she was pissed off. After Ms. Annette responded to the jest in such a professional manner the mood in the room seemed to tighten even more than it already had. "Ah, well it's obvious this is a joke, isn't it? I mean come on, you can't seriously expect us to believe this bullshit, kill each other? Get real lady, just let us go already." Evan's voice carried across the entire room with a rough, brutish tone. "And that ladies and gentlemen, and other identifying people is why this is happening. That exact disrespectful tone and utterly disgusting use of foul language. Tsk tsk. Although Mr. Willams is it?, is correct, even with everything you've seen thus far, what more can I do for you all as your program instructor to convey the natural depth of the situation? Ah, I know! Mr. Williams Popcorn a friend would you and make it quick or I'll choose you instead."
Author Note: For those unaware popcorning someone typically means to call upon a fellow friend or in this case classmate, it's often used in schools to keep the flow of a discussion going in class or the like.

Evan would quietly gulp, and with an annoyed look on his face, he chose a person. "Shawn," Evan said bluntly, the truth is he and Shawn weren't the closest, but still talked here and there, Shawn was also the closest one in his field of view and he saw this decision was somewhat natural. Despite this, Shawn would look over at Evan confused as Evan turned his head away in the other direction. After saying the name, Ms.Annette would quietly smirk and raise her right hand. It looked like she was holding a small black object of sorts. Upon further inspection it was clear that it was a remote, it looked to very closely resemble a TV remote, but it was clear that this remote was different, and to further that confirmation Ms. Annette would press one of the red buttons on the very center of it in front of the whole class as it began.

*BEEP* *BEEP* *BEEP*!!!

A loud beeping began chiming almost instantly after Ms. Annette had hit the button, the other students began looking around aimlessly to figure out where it was coming from, but it wasn't that hard. Shawn's collar, now adorned with a bright red LED light blinking rapidly, emitted a continuous mechanical noise. Upon realizing it, Shawn would instantly grab and tug at his collar frantically in utter confusion, as the others would watch. Ms. Annette would say, "I suggest you all step away from him. Trust me, it's about to get messy." Ms. Annette would say as she let out a soft yet teasing laugh. As the collar's beeping rapidly increased, chaos erupted in the classroom. Students from different groups flocked around in different directions, ignoring Shawn's desperate cries for help. Pleading and begging for help Shawn would eventually get pushed into the center while he cried and screamed out.

"I don't wanna die! Help me! Help me! I don't understand this! Please, anyone! H-Help me!" His desperation was evident and his voice raspy and broken as tears hastily followed down his face and the others were forced to be confronted with the cruel situation they had been put in. As Nathan began to reach out to Shawn to help him, it was already too late, the climax had finally hit, as the collar sounded off one last time and Shawn's neck seemingly exploded with bits of his flesh drooping on the floor as his blood splatted around the room before his body had finally collapsed and never moved again.

Immediately after the incident, a voice resonated from the front of the room. Ms. Annette would begin to chuckle, "Well, well, now wasn't that just an explosive start? Ahahaha!" Ms. Anette's tone was boastful, yet cheery seeing the tears and utter panic the students were in, she had secured her dominance while showing the students what fate potentially awaited them.

"Now as fun as that was, we've wasted enough time. When I call your names, step forward to receive your resource pack and weapon pack. Proceed immediately to the exit on the right-hand side of the doorway. You wouldn't want to end up like Mr. Greenlin, would you? I thought not

The student's attention would begin to alternate between Ms. Anette and Shawn's lifeless body.

41 Students remain.
