The following morning. I closed the office very early, I decided to pick up my son from school.

I got to the class, and the teacher tells me that his dad had him picked up.
Dad, Aaron daiz.

Aaron was so stunned to see me coming right after driving from Dalton's school.
"Samantha, I can explain,".
He said.
I gave him a chance to clarify the truth to me.
Aaron beats his eyes around and I saw that look, whenever he's trying to tell a lie
Mom walks in and admitted to the fact that she had called Aaron to pick up Dalton from school since she thought I would be closing from work late today.
Aaron nods his head and walked up to Dalton's bedroom.
Mom gave me a tap on the shoulders and left.
Why don't I believe her?
She might be my mom, however, she knows how to conceal the truth.
I went in to change.
Keith phoned me a while later.

He says he was outside waiting for me. I came out and finds him holding a flower and chocolates in his hand.

"Tell me, what's going on?".
I collected the chocolate.
"Nothing, can't I at least be romantic even for a day?"
He winked at me as we walked inside the house.

We met Aaron picking up his jacket from Dalton's shoulder, we both looked at each other but didn't say anything.

Keith and I walked to the dining room. Mom was busy setting the plates on the table when she noticed Aaron wasn't coming in, she confirmed with me if he was still around.

I pointed at the door and told her that Aaron had just left.

She squeezed her eyes at me and went back into the kitchen.

I'm sure she wasn't pleased when I told her that Aaron left.

Dalton walks to the dining room table and seats across from me.
Keith pulls out a gift from his back pocket and slowly shifted it towards him.
"Here you go, son?"
Keith smiled.
Dalton looks at it before asking what was inside the envelope.
Keith however said it was three tickets to a see the new talked about a cartoon showing in Cinemas.

I thought Dalton was going to be happy, however, he gave the tickets back to Keith and said, Aaron had taken him to see the movie before.

When did that happen?
Mom comes out of the kitchen. She and I looked at each other.
Is there something I am not knowing? When did Aaron take my son to the movies?
After eating. Keith and I walked to his car.
I apologized for my son's behavior. He wasn't too concerned when I brought out the topic.

A minute after his departure, a car drives in.
I turned around and met Elena stepping out of a dark-tinted car.
"Samantha, can we talk?"
She comes close.
"Tell me, why are you here?"
I said.

Elena suggested that we find someplace else to talk.
I shook my head and we both moved towards a nearby playground to speak.

What does she want to talk about?.....

The night was a lot quiet than usual. Elena takes a seat on the swing, she turns thereafter and asked me to Aaron.
"Tell me, Samantha, how long do you intend to keep the truth,".
She wiggled her eyebrows.
I laughed. "What truth?".
"Don't like to yourself, I'm sure, Dalton is the kid of my husband, the same pregnancy, you once came to tell everyone years back, did you forget?"
She replied. Takes out her phone.

I should have known it will be a few days, but Elena figured out the truth.
Funny. However how the hell is she going to prove that, Dalton is Indeed Aaron's child, without a DNA test, because I ain't admitting that fact to her.
Not now. Not ever.
