Maeve sighed as she rubbed her round belly. She was currently sat outside on the rooms balcony. Enjoying the nice weather as it blew through her hair.
It's been many years, about twenty to be exact, and Maeve had finally decided she wanted a family. So now here she was, nine months later about to pop. She cringed as she felt a hard kick.
"Only a few days now little one."
A week later Maeve was walking through her garden when she felt water run down her legs.
She looked down and cursed. Quickly she made her way back to the palace and grabbed the closest maid. The maid took her to the medical wing immediately and got her help. She was lying there with her way closed when she felt someone grasp her hand. Her eyes open to find gentle dark green eyes staring into her own. The eyes of her closest friend.
"Maeve how are you doing?"
"Naomi you must ask better questions." The two laughed together and Maeve squeezed Naomi's hand in thanks.
"Legolas has been informed and should be on his way." Maeve nods and cringes in pain.
"Don't worry Maeve it'll all be worth it. You'll see." Maeve didn't bother replying as she watched Legolas sprint into the room.
"Mae!" He came running up to her and quickly grabbed the hand Naomi had dropped.
"Legolas." She squeezed his hand as well and smiled slightly. Though it didn't last long when she felt an indescribable amount of pain. She grunted and painfully held on to Legolas's hand.
"It's time to push."
"Wahh!" Exactly seven minutes later the loud cry burst through the room.
Legolas froze when he was handed a blue blanket wrapped around a baby. He looked into his sons eyes and found the exact replica of his own. Along with their eyes matching he had the same hair as well. Though as he grows it may darken out yet. Legolas hoped that it would, he simply loved everything about Mae. It would be perfect if their child looked like her as well.
He gently turned and walked towards Maeve. She was laid out on the bed and breathing heavily from exhaustion.
"Mae." He whispered as he lowered his arms slightly. Her eyes opened and then widened as she pushed herself up. Legolas handed over their baby to her carefully and Maeve gently held her son.
Maeve teared up as she saw her son, identical she believed to his father. She laughed happily and wiped her tears. She looked up at Legolas after inspecting her son entirely.
Legolas was smiling brightly at her, which she returned easily.
"What will you name him?" Legolas questioned Maeve softly.
"How about Callon?" She offered quietly to her husband.
"It's perfect." They both simultaneously gently kiss their sons forehead. Softly whispering their love for him as he slept.
