I am finally starting to feel like myself again. It wasn't hard to breathe anymore and my heart rate was back to normal. It had been awhile since I had last seen Renee. I guess I was starting to get used to not seeing him around anymore. I thought maybe he had forgotten about me or moved out of town. It got easier to hide from him and I became way too careless, but running into him tonight shocked me more than I like to admit because I wasn't prepared for it. Usually I was good at playing like he didn't scare me, but I'm sure the look on my face gave Renee satisfaction that he still had the same effect on me. I could punch my own self in the face for that.

Yuca was still holding me and rubbing my back, so I sat up straight and pushed him away but he didn't move far. Both of my hands moved from his chest, to his shoulders, then slowly made their way down his arms. I was trying to push him away, but I couldn't help but feel his muscles. He moved back just a bit, just enough where he could look at my face. He kept his hands on my side. Did I mention that he smelled good?

He put his finger under my chin to make me look into his worried eyes. The last thing I wanted was for him to feel sorry for me.

"You okay now?" He whispered.

I didn't trust myself to speak just yet so I just shook my head yes.

"You want to talk about it?"

This time I had to speak. "Nope" Then I remembered what I wanted to ask him. "Why did you do that?" There must be a reason he did that for me.

"It isn't right for you to be so scared of a man."

"That's it? You don't even know me." Was he crazy? "How do you know I don't deserve how he is treating me?"

"No woman deserves to be treated that way. Ever."

I couldn't even respond to that. All I did was shake my head in disbelief.

"How does it feel to have your very own knight in shining armor?" He looked at me with the cutest smile ever and I couldn't help but laugh.

"I don't need you to save me, I can save myself."

"I'm sure you can but why would you when you can have me do it for you?" He puffed out his chest and punched it like King Kong. I turned my head, trying to keep him from seeing me smile.

He lifted one hand to my cheek and gently caressed it.

"For as long as I am your Knight, I only want to see you smile, never cry."

My cheek felt hot at his touch. Did I just blush again? I sighed in content. This guy was going to get me in so much trouble. From a distance I can hear someone scream my name. I turned around and see that Vic is calling me from Paco's car.

"I need to let them know that I'm alright." I said. Not really wanting to get down from the car. He moved back so I can jump down. When I started to walk to Paco's car he grabbed my hand and pulled me back to him then spun me around.

"Is it okay that I go with you or are you going to leave me hanging?"

I tugged at his hand in the direction where we needed to go. I won't let Renee ruin my night and I refused to let Renee ruin my life.

"Let's go have some fun, Knight."

We walked back to Paco's car and I introduced Yuca to Paco and the other guys. Then Paco made his way to me with the look in his face that told me that I was in trouble.
