Venom tried to wake his human up as they arrived at their destination, but Eddie didn't seem to want to open his eyes. Venom narrowed his eyes thoughtfully.

He would have to be careful. The other demons weren't exactly the same as he was. Bringing Eddie here was a risk...a great risk. But Venom wanted to do it because he loved Eddie and wanted to be with him forever.

Venom had unattached Eddie from him, carrying the man in his arms bridal style as he lowered them both to the rocky ground below. Venom snickered.

He was holding Eddie bridal style. How ironic.

Landing nimbly, Venom made his way down the rocky path to the place where the gathering was to be held. He didn't particularly like this area and would hide out in the cities as much as possible to avoid the dreary, dull scenery of this place.

No wonder he was a loser. He was different than all the other demons here. He enjoyed creation while the others despised it. Tried to ruin it. He liked humans and thought them fascinating. He noted how other demons had possessed their passengers and swore that he would never do the same to his when he found the right one.

True, Venom had gone through multiple passengers, but all of them had failed, ending up killing themselves by trying to escape or not being a suitable human that Venom enjoyed being around.

That's why Venom was trapped in the church. It was a punishment for not finding a perfect passenger. And there he stayed until the right person came along.

That's when Eddie had appeared. From the moment Venom looked at the man, he knew he was the one. Overflowing with gratitude, he proceeded to show him how much he really meant it. Of course, getting Eddie off had been part of the plan right away as the man was cute and produced tasty chemicals that Venom eagerly gobbled up on the air.

But there had been genuine affection as well. Eddie had missed him and vise-versa. They had learned to cope with each other, Eddie being the more reluctant one, and had finally come to a somewhat stable understanding.

Venom looked down at the sleeping man in his arms. He was so cute when he slept. He was cuter in bed with the sheets off and a writhing, pathetic mess whenever he was loved on, Venom thought, but seeing the man so at peace now was just so weirdly calming.

The demon stepped along the narrow road that led to the cliffs. His wings had gotten sore from flying and he had wanted to stretch his legs for a while now, wanting to feel free.

He was not surprised when he was greeted by a red demon with a fierce scowl on his face.

"Oh, don't tell me that's another one of your fake friends," the red demon hissed.

"This one is not fake," Venom replied curtly and proceeded to step around the annoying demon.

"Wait, is he dead?"

"No, Carnage. He's sleeping," Venom growled, getting slight irked.

"Aw, I wanted to kill him," Carnage pouted, looking disappointed.

If they had been in another time and in another place, Venom would have attacked that stupid creep but instead he ignored the remark and headed towards the large boulders that lined the way to the top of the cliff.

He had to be careful. The other demons knew he was different, sure, but he was just as brutal. He had to act like he was like them in order to achieve the blessing. Otherwise the others would call off the "marriage" and send Eddie away, leaving Venom to fall subsequently to another formidable doom.

And Venom didn't want that. He wanted to be with Eddie.

Venom slowly approached the slab of stone that was meant as an altar for the joining ceremony. Just then Eddie woke up.
