Eddie walked into the familiar store, the bell at the top of the door chiming merrily as he entered.

"Eddie!" a woman's voice cried happily.

Looking up, Eddie saw Mrs. Chen behind the counter and she was smiling. Smiling back, he nodded.

"Hey, Mrs. C," he grinned. "I'm back."

"Eddie, how are you? I've missed seeing you come in," Mrs. Chen said as she came around the counter.

"Been working, y'know? And giving the police info about the situation at the church an' stuff," Eddie replied, shrugging. He still wore that same, goofy grin.

Venom stood beside him and could feel through their bond that Eddie was not at all bothered by the topic of the church.

Mental note; Eddie is not scared to talk about it.

That was interesting. Venom smiled softly and gently pressed his hand against Eddie's back. The man tensed up a little but relaxed when he realized it was Venom.

Hmm. Even more interesting.

"Well, if you need anything, let me know," Mrs. Chen said. "I have a new shipment of chocolate if you're interested."

Eddieeee......

Okay, okay, keep your fingers on...

"Thanks, Mrs. C," he said and started off towards the aisles. Venom followed closely, not wanting his human to get out of sight. As if Venom would ever allow that perfect man out of his sight....

"Okay, there's a butt ton of options here, V," he said, looking at the different options. "Which ones stick out to you?"

You want me to choose? Venom sounded surprised.

"....yeah," Eddie replied, kind of confused as the demon had always picked out the kinds of chocolate they got.

No. Not this time. This time you choose , Venom said, shaking his head and smiling. You've had a rough couple of months. You need this. Just pick some.

"Are...are you sure?"

Eddie....c'mon.... Eddie giggled a little as an unseen finger teased his neck and he tried to swat it away.

"Okay, okay, uh, let's see," he said and turned to the different kinds of chocolates.

Venom picked up every chocolate Eddie pointed at and put it into the small bag Eddie carried. When they were sure they had gotten everything they needed, Eddie headed up to the counter.

"Nice to see you're eating healthier," Mrs. Chen said with a smile as Eddie placed the bag of chocolate, some fruits and veggies and a bag of tater-tots next to it.

"It's a habit, I guess," he shrugged.

"Something tells me that you didn't start this one your own either," Mrs. Chen said, giving him a look.

"Uh, yeah....someone suggested it to me," Eddie said, rubbing the back of his neck.

"Well, whoever it was, I admire them for taking up my wisdom," the woman said with a smile. "You needed to eat healthier anyways."

"I'll be sure to let them know," Eddie grinned. The demon had been the one to change Eddie's eating habit...especially after Eddie was diagnosed with PTSD. Eddie had complained at first, but Venom had been firm.

Eddie paid for his stuff and then said goodbye to Mrs. Chen as he headed out the door.

I missed seeing her,  Venom sighed as they walked down the street together. She complimented me, too.
