Chapter Two

It was the first day of school. Stiles and I were in front of the school. I was texting Lydia.

"Okay, let's see this thing"

Scott told us what happened last night after we left him in the forest.

Scott lifts up his shirt to show us the bite wound which is covered in gauze that has a small amount of blood leaking through it.

"Ooh!"

"Yeah"

Scott pulls his shirt down as we resume walking into school.

"It was too dark to see much but i'm pretty sure it was a wolf"

Stiles looks in disbelief.

"A wolf bit you?"

"Uh-huh"

Stiles shakes his head.

"No, not a chance"

"I heard a wolf howling"

Stiles scoffed.

"No, you didn't"

"What do you mean 'n, I didn't'. How do you know what I hear?"

"Because California doesn't have wolves, okay. Not in, like, sixty years."

Scott looks surprised.

"Really?"

"Yes really. There are no wolves in California"

"There weren't vampires either but your living with one." I added my input.

Stiles gave me a bitch-face.

"All right. Well, if you don't believe me about the wolf then you're definitely not gonna believe me about when I tell you I found the bod."

Stiles and I demeanors change to greeful.

"You-are you kidding me?"

"No, man, I wish I was. I'm gonna have nightmares for a month."

"Oh, God, that is freakin' awesome. I mean t his is seriously gonna be the best thing that's happened to this town since-"

Lydia walked up.

"-Since the birth of Lydia Martin. Hey, Lydia! You look-"

Lydia walks right by him but grabs my hand. I let her pull me away from them.

"-Like you're gonna ignore me."

I grinned.

"So Lydia, I was thinking after school we could go shopping. I'm in desperate need of some girl time."

"Sounds perfect. I can pick you up"

"Sounds great."

I was in English class. I was in front of Stiles and diagonal from Scott.

The teacher immediately began to talk. "As you all know, there indeed was a body found in the woods last night."

Scott grins and looks over to us.

"And I'm sure your eager little minds are coming up with various macabre scenarios as to what happened. But I am here to tell you that the police have a suspect in custody, which means you can give your undivided attention to the syllabus which is on your desk outlining this semester."

Scott, Stiles, and I share a look. We knew the police didn't have anyone in custody. I shook my head and looked at the syllabus in front of me.

I heard a phone ring loudly. Looks like Scott did too. I looked around before looking outside. I saw a girl talking on her phone. Sounds like she was talking to her mom.

I ignored her and went back to reading.

Soon, the door opened.

"Class, this is our new student, Allison Argent. Please do your best to make her feel welcome."

Allison smiles weakly before going to the only open seat in class which was behind Scott. I watched her as she sat down.

Scott turned and gave her a pen. I shook my head.

"Thanks"

She seemed confused but thankful.

Way to make it obvious Scott.
