Aigoo, Hyoyeon and Junho are seriously such a strange couple." Taeyeon said, as she and Yoona were eating lunch at the cafeteria in the university. Yoona seemed to be in deep thought as she didn't seem to be listening.
"Yoong!" Taeyeon managed to get Yoona back from her thoughts. "You seem really out of sorts these days. And you keep sighing while looking at your phone. Tell me, did anything happen?"
"Oh? Ah it's nothing, I'm just tired, don't worry!" Yoona managed to put on a smile. "Anyway, don't you think Hyoyeon is impressive? She just has this hold over Junho!"
Sensing that Yoona did not want to talk about her problem at the moment, Taeyeon decided to drop the subject. "Haha yeah, it's quite funny. And Junho's a loyal guy. To go to such lengths for a relationship is impossible for me, what I think is that there is 'suitable' and 'not suitable' for people."
"Well, I guess that doesn't really matter in a relationship if it is serious enough. When there's something or someone you don't want to lose, it's probably a matter of whether you take the first step, even if you look pathetic in the eyes of others." Yoona said, with a hint of sadness on her face.
Taeyeon looked at her dear friend in concern and was thinking about her words. Why was Yoona saying such words? Taeyeon pondered over whether to ask her friend again when Yoona spoke again.
"Taengoo, I-" "Taeyeon! I'll like to speak with you for a moment." Yoona was interrupted by a call from Mr. Jung, Taeyeon's teacher in architecture.

"What do you guys think? Should I go for it?" Taeyeon asked. Wooyoung, Taecyeon, Yoona, Leeteuk, Junho and herself were gathered in Leeteuk's dorm.
'Ah, that competition. It holds a very important place in Taeyeon's life. She won the first place for the competition as the youngest contestant and earned herself a place in the most prestigious graduate school in Korea through the competition.' Wooyoung thought to himself.
"But it says the deadline is by today's postmark... Taeyeon, will you be able to make it on time?" Taecyeon asked, looking at the application form Taeyeon was given.
"I think you'll be okay, the work that Mr. Jung has told you to submit has a lot of potential if you add some things to it." Leeteuk replied, with advice as her senior. He worked with Mr Jung a lot and knew why Mr Jung chose Taeyeon. Taeyeon looked uncertainly at Leeteuk, while he gave an encouraging smile.
"It's a great opportunity. As long as you get it sent by midnight, you'll be able to get it postmarked and you'll be just on time."
"But what about the birthday party?" Taecyeon asked.
"Birthday party?" Leeteuk asked.
"Yep! It's Taeyeon's last birthday as a teenager. We were planning to eat dinner together and do a countdown for her." Yoona replied.
"Oh, is that so..." Leeteuk nodded with understanding.
Taeyeon gave an apologetic smile and said, "Well, there's no hurry to take part in the competition right? There's still next year and the year after that!"
"It's a chance, isn't it? Taeng, you should do it." Wooyoung finally spoke up. With his words, all of Taeyeon's uncertainties disappeared as she looked at her childhood best friend.
"That's true! We'll just do the party tomorrow!" Yoona said cheerfully.
"Yup, tomorrow~" Taecyeon agreed.
"I'm really sorry!" Taeyeon sincerely apologised, clasping her hands together.
"You guys are really close friends, aren't you?" Leeteuk smiled.
"It's an unsavoury but inseparable friendship." Taecyeon said with conviction. "Alright, I'll go look at my assignment. Thanks so much guys! See you later!" Taeyeon smiled and waved as she walked out of the dorm towards the teacher's office.
