Prince Amar was confused. His mind was blasting with so many unanswered questions.

"Maa Saa." He shouted as soon as he stepped inside the Amergarh fort.

He wanted answers... He won't be at peace untill he get them.

"Amar... My son." Maharani Somvati ran in his directions with tears in her eyes.

Her heart swelled with pain as she assessed his form.

He looked tired. Fatigue was clear on his face but her eyes were stucked on his bruised hand.

Maharani took hold of his palm and caressed his bandaged fingers.

Words denied to come out of her mouth.

"Kyu Maa Saa... Chitra ko kyu bheja aapne?" Amar asked. Hurt was evident in his tone.

Somvati stood still. She had no reply.

"Choti Rani Saa, Veer... Dekhiye kon aaya hai?" She called dodging Amar's question royally.

Amar was surprised at her Maa's ignorance towards his question.

He decided to present his query again but before he could do that family members and ministers started gathering in the Royal Court Hall.

"Amar... Kaise hain Aap?" Ratna Bai engulfed him in a motherly hug.

"Hum sahi hain Choti Maa Saa." Amar assured swiping away the tears from her cheeks.

Veer also took his elder Bhai Saa in a brotherly hug controlling the moisture that pooled up in his eyes.

"Where is Bapu Saa and Suvarna?" Yuvraj Amar asked not finding the two around.

"Yuvrani is resting in her chamber. In your absence her health deteriorted but now that you are here, I hope she'll get better soon." Maharani Somvati said with concerned filled eyes.

Amar became anxious. His mind clouded with worry thinking about the health of his wife and their unborn.

He took hasty steps towards his chamber but halted in the track when his eyes assessed the ajar door of Maharaj's room.

Amar frowned finding his father resting at an odd hour.

He moved inside and soon greeted by an attendee.

"Pranam Yuvraj Saa."

"Pranam." Amar nodded in acknowledgement.

"What happened to Bapu Saa?" He asked looking the servant with scrutinizing gaze.

The attendee hestitated first but when Amar probed further, he thoroughly told him the reason behind Maharaj Suryabhan's unconsious state.

"Hey bhagwan!" Amar weeped in agony.

His eyes filled with tears as he crouched down on the floor with his hands on his head.

"Zahoor Ali Khan... You destroyed my whole family." A loud sob escaped from a very helpless Amar's mouth.

His couldn't decipher how to fix back his broken family.

"Amar." Maharani Somvati yelled as she walked in with a glass of medicine for her husband.

"How all this happened Maa Saa? A few months ago we all were so happy... Celebrating Suvarna's pregnancy and now look Maa Saa..." Amar broke down.

Somvati immediately hide his face in her embrace and let him cry untill his anger... sorrow... faded away.

"Amar, my son don't worry... Everything will get back to normal really soon. Your Bapu Saa and Suvarana will be fine... Royal Physician is taking good care of them." Maharani assured.

"And what about Chitra, Maa Saa? You already forgot about your daughter." Amar fired back.

Somvati stilled for a second.

"Maa Saa kyu bheja aapne Chitrangada waha... Batayein Maa Saa ... Kyu...?"

Somvati gulped down her tears. "Did I have any other option than that? With your Bapu Saa's unconsious state, I was the one who was supposed to take the decision and it was the best I could come up with."

Amar watched his mother bewildered.

"You had no other option Maa Saa." He repeated her words.

"How could you even say that? WAR was our option. We had such a trained army, Shaswat kaka Saa and Veer. We all together have had fought against that demon." Amar was desperate for answer.

"Amar, from the starting it was a lost battle for us. Our army is nothing infront of his power and with you in his capture, I couldn't afford to put Veer in the same danger." Somvati tried to prove her point.

"Ooh... So, you thought it's alright to put Chitra in that hell." Amar mocked with a humorless laugh.

"Son, it was Chitra's decision only. She convienced me and..." Maharani couldn't complete as she broke down in hysterical sob.

"And you supported her decision. You thought it's okay to send her to Zahoor if that would save your sons lives." Somvati stayed quiet. Now, she started doubting her own decision.

She indeed did wrong by sending Chitrangada there, where her life, her honor, her everything was at stake.

"Ab hum kya kar sakte hain Amar?" Somvati looked her son with tears filled eyes.

"Maa Saa ab toh kuch karne ka bhi samay ja chuka hai hamare hatho se. Chitra bhut dur ja chuki hain hum sab se. Aapne kho diya hai usko aur uske sath sath humko bhi." Amar left with heavy heart leaving his disheveled mother behind.
