It's November 11th, which means it's not only a Friday, but it's also Astoria's fourteen birthday, and instead of celebrating, Olympia finds herself walking hurriedly to her first Muggle Studies lesson, which she's already late for.
The reason for said tardiness being her need to drink coffee after repeatedly falling asleep throughout Herbology. After her lesson with Ravenclaw had ended, the Greek heiress had arrived at the Kitchens in evident hurry. The elves, seeing her distress, had kindly offered to make her a cup of tea to relieve her tension. And while Olympia knew their intentions to be pure, the prospect of having to drink — what she considered insipid boiling water — made a sudden urge grow inside her, an urge in which she saw herself throwing the hoard of wide eye creatures into the vicious flames.
Thankfully, she did end up receiving a cup of steaming black coffee — Just how she liked it, strong and bitter. And to her surprise, it had been none other than Dobby, the Malfoys former elf, that gave it to her.
She thanked him, and Dobby smiled. After all, he had always liked her, even if she didn't really talk to him, Olympia had always treated him with respect — Which he would always remain grateful for.
But after she finished what had to be her fourth cup of the black beverage, she excused herself, making a run for the opposite side of the Castle.
Now, she stands before her classroom's door, taking in a deep breath while wincing at the stabbing pain on the side of her ribs from all the running. Once the ache fades, she knocks, walking inside when she hears her Professor's faint 'Come in'.
"Aha! You must be Miss Sarantos, correct?" Says a blonde woman with amber eyes from behind the top desk. "Come in, child — Welcome! I am Professor Charity Burbage. Do take a seat wherever you please."
Olympia nods thanking her Professor before letting her eyes drift all around the room.
Muggle Studies was not a popular subject, truth was that barely any students enrolled each term. Which meant years had to be mixed up together to barely manage and fill one room. Hence why Olympia is met with a variety of students. All the way from first to seventh year.
Oh, she thinks, how she was going to hex James Potter for landing her in this position.
"Olympia," She hears her name being called. "Over here!"
She lets her eyes drift, searching for the familiar voice calling her out before her eyes widen in surprise. Miles waves a hand in the air, gesturing to the seat left unused on his right.
"Hello," She acknowledges, taking a seat next to the handsome blonde. "I must admit, I am surprised. I did not expect to find Head Boy Miles Bletchley, of all people, taking Muggle Studies."
The boy chuckles, pushing his belongings to the side while providing Olympia more space than he had. "What can I say, I am full of surprises."
"I can see that."
"What about you? Don't get me wrong, I love having you here, but you truly don't seem like the type."
This time, it is Olympia who chuckles. "The type?" She asks, lifting a perfectly plucked eyebrow.
Miles both nods and shrugs, lowering his voice when their Professor sends them a questioning look. "You know, interested in anything that doesn't belong to your world."
"My world?" She laughs at his insinuation before redirecting the question to him. "And what does said world look like?"
"High class, wealthy, pureblood." Miles lifts a finger each time he points out a new fact.
Olympia widens her eyes, amused at the boy's words and his perspective of her. She wants to laugh again, because as far as she knows, the Bletchleys, while not a part of the Sacred Twenty-Eight, were still considered a pureblooded family of high regard and status.
