Mari's POV :

I've been living in Gotham for two months now and I am confident enough in the kwamis abilities to look after the kids to start patrolling the city. I've already sent a message to him telling him that I'm in Gotham and that I can join them. He told me to meet them at the top of WE tonight at eight.

I can't wait to be a hero again!

I find my way to the rooftop and transform.

Swinging through the air again feels amazing. I know that it's only half seven, but I want to relax and get used to the suit again before patrol starts.

I swing from building to building, run across the roofs, back flip of of buildings and catching myself at the last second. I feel free.

I make it to WE ten minutes before we're supposed to meet. I sit down and wait.

Damian's POV :

It's time for patrol. I'm ready, the others aren't. I've become very strict about patrol now and them being late isn't helping.

Father : Damian, you can go ahead to WE. We'll leave in five minutes.

Damian : Of course.

I leave before anyone can say anything. I'm supposed to wait for them at WE.

I make it to the tower pretty quickly. I can sense a presence. I look around and soon find a figure sitting on the edge of the tower looking down. I pull out my katana.

Robin : Who are you and what are you doing here?

They turn their head in my direction and are met with my katana.

??? : I'm Ladybird. You met me last summer.

She backflips away and is suddenly behind me.

Robin : Why are you here?

We start fighting. We're evenly matched. She's laughing pretty hard. Suddenly, I'm caught in something.

She tied me up with- a yoyo?

Ladybird : Will you calm down for a minute? Jeez... I didn't leave Paris to have to deal with this Bullshit...

Father and the heathens suddenly appear. The heathens seem to find my predicament amusing. They won't for long...

Batman : That's enough. Good to see you LB.

Ladybird : Good to see you to Batsy. How've you been?

Batman : Good. Could you please untoie Robin? We need to start patrol.

She unties me.

Ladybird : For the record, he started it when he pointed his katana at me.

I don't like her.

Mari's POV :

Robin looks like he's going to explode.

I definitely don't like him.

Not because of the fact that he pointed his katana at me, but because I get weird vibes off of him.

Batman : Redhood go with Red Robin, Robin with Ladybird and Night wing with me.

Great. I'm stuck with him.

The others leave before either one of us can object.

He leaves quickly and I have no problem following him.

°Time skip°

Partrol was... Patrol.

We went around our part of the city and stopped a few robberies. Nothing really interesting. Robin didn't say a word to me until we had finished our last fight.

Robin : You're sloppy.

Ladybird : Excuse me?

Robin : You heard me. Or are you deaf as well?

We got into a fight. The others found us as we were screaming at each other. We were about to start physically fighting as well. Their timing was perfect.

They broke us up and sent us home.

As soon as I made it back, I let go of my transformation. I was exhausted and wanted to go to bed. The kwamis all rushed to me and asked me how it went.

Mari : I'll tell you all about it tomorrow. I'm really tired right now.

I walked to my bed and fell asleep right away.

Damian's POV :

We're back are the cave.

Father : What was all that about?

Damian : Why wasn't I told about us getting a new teammate?

Father : Answer the question.

Damian : I simply stated a fact. It annoyed her. We got into a screaming match. There's nothing more to it.

Father : I'm not in the mood for any of this. Goodnight boys.

Father leaves the cave. Everyone else soon follows.

That girl, there's something about her that just rubs me the wrong way. I can't stand her.

I go to bed.

Maybe I won't have to patrol with her again.

Third POV :

This cycle repeated itself from then on.

They would all go on patrol together. Robin and Ladybird were always assigned to be each other's partners. Jon would join them every once in a while, but it would never stop the glares they would send each other.

Patrol became a competition between the two of them.

Who could take down the most gang members?
Who was faster?
Etc.

It would never stop. They seemed to hate each other. They would have silent arguments that would consist of glares. The first to look away would lose.

During the day, Marinette would go to her classes, look after her kids and work on commissions. She always went to the Willow tree with the babies for a walk around four pm. She would stay there for about an hour hoping to see Damian. To no avail.

Damian, on the other hand, spent his days working at WE, except on Fridays. He had classes on Friday. He would walk Titus around three and had always left the park by four.

Both would train in their free time, wanting to beat the other during patrol.

This was a cycle.

A cycle they both knew of and accepted. As long as they were the winner of their little contests.
