Chapter 29

Mari's POV :

It's Damian. I found my demon. I missed him so much.

I run up to him and kiss him.

He freezes.

Shit! I messed up, didn't I?

I stop kissing him and I'm about to apologize when he grabs me by the waist and pulls me in for another kiss. It says everything that needed to be said. All of the emotions we went through, all of the hardships... Most of all, it said "I missed you". At some point, the kiss grows into something more. It grows needy. We end up making out on my couch. It would have gone further if Damian hadn't gotten a call from the team.

He had to leave.

Damian leaves after saying a quick goodbye, leaving me with a thousand questions and no answers.

°Time skip°

The kids were fine. The kwamis told me that we had arrived just as he had broken in. We were lucky. He's still out there though.

I feel my phone vibrate.

- traffic light 🚦-
We need to talk. Where do you want to meet?

-Badbug 🐞-
Do you mind coming over? The kids are asleep and I don't want to leave them after what happened last night.

I'm on my way.

I'm stressed. We didn't really talk about the situation yesterday.

I remember yesterday's events. How it felt when I realized that it was him. Feeling his lips against mine once again.

I feel like I'm dreaming.

I still have one very important question though.

What are we?

I guess this is the question we're about to answer.

I hear my doorbell ring. He's here.

I open the door and let Damian inside.

Damian : Hi!

Mari : Hi!

He's smiling. That's a good sign.

Mari : Sooo... What do you want to talk about?

Damian : I'll go straight to the point. Am I the dad?

Mari : Yes, you are the dad. Do you want to meet them properly? They're awake. The kwamis are keeping them busy.

Damian : Did you really just ask me if I wanted to meet my kids? Of course I want to!

I smile at him. I still can't believe this is actually happening. I fucking dreamt of this moment and here it is.

We walk into the room where the kids are.

Mari : These are your sons : Rune and Brecken. And these are your daughters : Riven and Forest.

He seems so happy. I guess I was worried about nothing.

We spend the rest of the day playing with them until time for patrol came.

I quickly transformed and he got changed before we headed for WE together. It was a fun race. I won this time.

Damian's POV :

As we make it to WE, I notice that the others had been waiting for us.

RH : Where were you Lil'D?

Of course he had to slip up now. Of all the times he could slip up and call me one of his stupid nicknames, he had to do it in front of her. I can see her holding in her laugh.

Robin : No nicknames in the suit.

Mari's POV :

Lil'D?

I've seen it and it definitely isn't small-

Damian's POV :

Batman : Let's start patrol. Robin, I need to talk to you after patrol.

Robin : Of course.

We start patrolling our area. I can here Marinette giggling.

Robin : Whats so funny?

Ladybird : That nickname! *uncontrollable laughter* Why?

She still can't stop laughing.

Robin : The eldest of the heathens' nickname is Dick. I'll let you figure it out.

Her laughter gets louder.

Ladybird : It's just- It took everything in my power for me not to slip up and say : "I've seen it and it definitely isn't small-"

I can feel my cheeks heating up.

Ladybird : You're face!

She pulls out her yo-yo and takes a picture.

Great.

Robin : Please concentrate.

Ladybird : Of course.

°Time skip°

Patrol is over. I accompanied Marinette home and said goodbye to our kids before heading back to the manor.

Father is waiting for me in the cave.

Father : Why did you disappear last night?

Damian : There was a break in and I had to run after a guy. He got away.

Father : Don't lie to me Damian.

Damian : I'm not lying.

I start walking away.

Damian : Goodnight father!

I leave the cave and start looking for Todd. He is going down. When I find him, I pull out my katana and start running after him.

I needed to make sure he sleeps deeply tonight.

I then go to my room and relax. I message Angel a bit and, when I know Todd is asleep, I grab hair clippers and head to his room.

About ten minutes later, when I'm proud of my work, I go to my room and lock door before going to bed.
