Chapter Eight - Nimbasa City Gym

Nate and Rosa walked to the gym which they thought was the gym.

"Did you get everything you need from the Pokemon center?" Rosa asked, looking inside her bag.

"Yep, I think I did," Nate said, looking at the gym entrance.

The two entered the gym, and the man who gives out free water blocked them from entering.

"You two know that the gym leader, Elesa, has a new gym, right?" He said.

"Uh..." The two trainers stood there. "Yeah, we do! We just wanted to check this one out."

The man nodded. "Yes, this gym is really a thriller! I don't know why she changed her gym, but do not worry! Her other gym is just next to this one."

The two nodded, and raced out of the old gym to the new one. It wasn't as exciting as Nate or Rosa imagined it to be.

"What is this? A fashion show?" Rosa said.

"I think it actually is a fashion show..." Nate said, looking around. The gym had one of those things models walked down in with fancy clothes... And there was an actual crowd!

"I'll see you there!" Rosa said, marching onto the alleyway, pretending to walk like a model. Nate snickered, but inside, he felt nervous. Did he have to walk like that, too?

Twenty minutes later, Rosa came running back to Nate, holding the gym badge that was shaped like a lightning bolt.

"I got it!" She said. Nate grinned at his friend's accomplishment. She beat Elesa with only three Pokemon of her own. Servine, Panpour, and a weird-colored Flaafy that she got from a trade.

Nate still only had his two Pokemon. Dewott and Pansear. Nate did do some extra training in route four with Rosa, so he thinks he will do fine.

After a tough battle against a huge crowd, Nate and Rosa exited the gym, and they crashed straight into Hugh, who Nate still knew as the red jacket boy.

Hugh looked up at them and was about to say something when some weird man standing near the ferris wheel shouted something.

"Come over here to have a free ferris wheel ride!!" The man shouted, and Nate saw Rosa's eyes light up.

Rosa grabbed Nate's arm and ran towards the ferris wheel, making Hugh run after them.

"Hey! I was going to ask to battle!!" Hugh shouted.

The three made a halt once they approached the weird man.

"Hello, there!" The man said. "Are you lot a couple...?" He said, looking at the three trainers.

Rosa frowned, but then she smirked. She pushed Nate and Hugh at the ferris wheel. "We have a couple right here, sir!" She said.

Nate turned back and glared at Rosa, his face red. Rosa just grinned as a response, watching the man help the two trainers into the ferris wheel cart.

"Have a nice time!" The man said, shutting the cart door and pressing a button on his remote, making the ferris wheel start to move.
