Caspar frowned as Joe sped away, at possibly his quickest pace yet. In the logical section of his mind, he reasoned that Joe probably just wanted to get down quickly to wash his face, but the emotional side won over. Joe had been laughing at the time, but that didn't mean he wasn't extremely pissed at Caspar. All YouTubers learn to hide their emotions well on camera; it wasn't exactly a stretch to use the same skills in everyday interactions.

Caspar turned the camera he held to his face, and muttered a short apology, before tucking the device into one of the many pockets situated around his jacket. Hoisting himself upright, he began to follow the same path down the mountain. He'd hoped he might've caught Joe on the way, but luck wasn't on his side, and he had a smooth, Joe-less trip.

Quickly skidding to a halt at the bottom, Caspar unclipped his feet and picked up the board. Glancing around, he couldn't spot the group anywhere, but figured they must've gone back to the lodge. It was warmer there, and served as a perfect meeting point for the boys to head back up the lift together.

As he came into sight of the lodge, he sighed thankfully. Without even spotting the guys, he could hear Jim's vlogging voice, and Marcus complaining. Caspar awkwardly jogged the last few metres, his heavy boots and snowboard getting in his way.

Jim turned his camera towards Caspar, greeting him, but Caspar silently shook his head. Jim took the hint without question, and turned off the camera.

"I'll edit it out later. What's up?"

Caspar faked a smile, suddenly feeling extremely conscious of his raging emotions. He didn't want to ruin Jim's day, and he wasn't helping anyone with a depressed frown. "Nothing, nothing, I just probably look like shit, and I need to get this board down." Jim raised an eyebrow, but Caspar hurriedly rambled on, cutting off anything Jim could've, or was about to, say. "You know, long run, I fell a few times. But these boots are ridiculous! They feel like huge boulders attached to the end of my legs, how am I meant to do anything in them? Oh well, snowboarding's been literally so much fun, thanks a heap for inviting me, don't think I hate being here, it's just hard sometimes, and-"

"Joe's in the bathroom, with Alfie."

Caspar's mouth hung agape, mid sentence, as he stared at Jim. He soon realised how ridiculous he probably looked, and shut it. At the same time, he dropped his head and ditched the happy facade. Everyone had already either guessed or been told about Caspar's feelings towards his roommate, but he still got embarrassed whenever they caught him on it. Everyone except Joe, of course, which Caspar was extremely thankful for. The others knowing was already bad enough. They were always finding new ways to remind him of their knowledge, like throwing him in the room with Joe this trip.

Not that he minded being in the same room, of course. But he'd rather enjoy it without Marcus ready to make a remark about it.

"Thanks, Jim," he mumbled, leaning his board against the table. A blush had crept to his cheeks, and he kept his head lowered as he trudged in the direction of the bathrooms.

Pressing a hand to the wooden door, he pushed lightly, and then again harder as it didn't budge, but to no avail. Eventually, he threw his entire weight against the door, and heard the cracking sound of ice as the door came unstuck. Unfortunately, the cracking had not only granted him entry, but also alerted anyone inside to his not-so-silent appearance.

Sighing, he stepped into the bathroom, letting the door swing shut behind him. Both Alfie and Joe must've been in here for a while, or at least long enough for the door to freeze shut.
