"I SMASHED 3 MIRRORS" - AmazingPhil

After the video

"Phil?" Dan called, shifting his legs until they were tucked under the computer. It was wickedly cold in the flat at the moment, no matter how high he cranked the heating. Both flatmates had layered themselves in jumpers and blankets, but nothing really kept out the bone-chilling freeze. The laptop balanced precariously on his lap, however, did offer short respite as it reached dangerously high temperatures in it's effort to keep up with Dan's editing software.

"Phil," he tried again, frowning. It wasn't uncommon for Phil to ignore Dan's yelling, but there was always some sense of simultaneous acknowledgement, whether it be a groan, a sigh, or a chuckle.

When nothing but silence greeted Dan, he frowned. Unless Phil was asleep, there was no reason for him to be so deathly quiet. It was nearly midnight, but that wasn't taking into account that Dan had heard Phil humming quietly what seemed to be only a few minutes ago.

Subconsciously smudging his fingertip over the top corner of his computer screen, Dan froze.

12:31

"Shit," he muttered, glancing back down. He'd been editing a new Sims video for the gaming channel, adding his own flair to the style, but he'd needed Phil to check over it before it started uploading. If they wanted it to be live by tomorrow, it had to start the process of posting tonight. He'd lost track of time, and everything was about to be thrown off-course.

There'd been no sound from Phil for over half an hour now, which probably meant his friend had fallen asleep. That, or Phil's 'bad luck' had finally caught up to him.

"Shit" he murmured again, pushing his laptop to the side and sliding ungracefully off the couch. An asleep Phil couldn't check a gaming video, and there was no chance Dan was going to wake him up. A dead Phil, however, would pose more issues than Dan really wanted to deal with right now.

Creeping out into the hall, he took a lot more caution to be silent than usual, sticking to the wall to avoid any creaking floor tiles, and keeping his breathing light. Any other night, Dan would stumble off to his room late at night, generally after Phil refused to stay up with him any longer, with no thought of silence. But if Phil really was sleeping, Dan didn't want to disturb him by galloping down the hallway and bursting through Phil's door.

Arriving at his destination, he halted. He had absolutely no excuse prepared for why he was checking in on Phil. Even he didn't really understand why he was taking such great lengths to see his flatmate sleeping.

Unless the desk fell on him and he's dead.

Grimacing, Dan shoved the image away, pressing a hand against the door. It was slightly ajar anyway, much to Dan's surprise, so he pushed a little harder to reveal the room inside.

Immediately he noticed the neatly made bed, and absence of a body under the blankets. Just to make sure, he fumbled for the switch, finally managing to turn the ceiling lights on.

The illuminated room confirmed Dan's suspicions. Phil wasn't casually laying on the floor, as Dan had caught him doing so many times before, and he wasn't using his computer, which was haphazardly placed on the desk, the lid tilted down.

Dan turned around and ventured back into the hall, dragging his feet. This was far too much investigation for this time of night, he'd really rather just curl up in his warm bed and scroll tumblr.

Reaching out, he rapped lightly on the bathroom door. "Phil?" he questioned, all notion of silence thrown from his mind. Opening the door revealed the same sight as Phil's bedroom: an empty, suspiciously normal room, and no Phil.
