A week passed since Taehyung's Vogue shoot and all of their schedules were finally slowing down. They were all seated around the living room in Taehyung, Jin, and Hoseok's apartment, Super Smash Bros. playing on the giant flat screen in front of them, chips and dip on the coffee table.
Some things would never change, after all.
"Goddamnit, Jimin!" Jin yelled, moving onto his knees. The sound of buttons being mashed filled the space. Yoongi munched contently behind Jimin, the latter nestled between his legs on the floor.
The three of them had enough furniture in their apartment for an army to sit comfortably in there, but Jimin still chose to sit as close to Yoongi as he could.
Jimin giggled on the floor, his small fingers moving quickly. Within seconds, Jimin's character, Princess Peach, had defeated Jin's character, Link.
"Who knew Jimin would become the master at this game?" Hoseok laughed as he took the controller from Jin.
The sore loser huffed and crossed his arms over his broad chest. "Pure luck."
"You suck at games, Jin." Yoongi rolled his eyes. Jimin nestled back against him as he prepared to face Hoseok.
Taehyung lounged in the leather chair to the side, a mixed drink in hand. He smiled at the group in front of him.
Although things are so, so different in so many ways, Taehyung was happy with his life. A knock on the door drew him from his happy bubble. "I got it."
Tae lifted from the chair and aproached the door. When he opened it, he grinned at the familiar face looking back at him.
"Hey, babe." He leaned forward and wrapped his arms around Joshua. Joshua planted a kiss on his cheek before they returned to the living room.
"Hey, guys." Joshua grinned at the group. Taehyung tried not to note the different reactions from his friends, but they were so alarmingly different it was hard not to.
Hoseok and Jimin grinned and greeted Joshua. Jin gave him a wave. And Yoongi flat out ignored him.
Taehyung sighed. Here we go.
Joshua took Taehyung's empty seat, so Tae awkwardly sat on the arm of the chair. He didn't want to move away from Joshua and he wasn't comfortable enough to sit in his lap. This was the best option... he guessed.
"How was Brazil?" Hoseok asked, his eyes focused on the TV screen. His character, Pikachu, was currently winning against Princess Peach.
"Oh, it was great," Joshua gushed. "The fans were awesome. I also got to meet the members of EXO, so that was cool."
"I'm sorry, what?" Taehyung snapped. Joshua didn't mention this. What the fuck?
"I didn't tell you?" Taehyung shook his head. "Oh, sorry. Here, I took a picture with Kai."
Taehyung was going to explode. This was it. He was going to actually lose it.
As Taehyung stared at the picture of beautiful Joshua next to beautiful Kai, he released a long breath. "You met Kai from EXO, knowing he's my favorite, and didn't tell me? Did you at least tell him I'm a fan? Get his autograph?"
"Uh, no?" Joshua laughed. He didn't know Taehyung was genuinely upset.
"Interesting." Yoongi gave a pointed look to Taehyung. "Seems someone doesn't know their boyfriend very well." Yoongi spit the word at Taehyung.
"I did get you something, though!" Joshua reached into the pocket of his jacket and held an object out to Taehyung. "I thought you'd like it."
Taehyung stared at Joshua's hand. In his palm was a magnet that said "Brazil" in green, blue, and yellow letters. Tae's shoulders sank, but he took the magnet. "Thanks, Joshua. That was really thoughtful of you."
Joshua beamed, nodded, and turned back to watch the TV. Taehyung flipped the magnet in his hand and purposely avoided looking at anyone else, especially Yoongi.
So Joshua wasn't the best at giving gifts.
At least he was here.
