Scottie's POV

It's the day before family day as I've been told and we finally arrived to camp half-blood where a horn sounded. The sudden horn made me alert to any form of attack until Phoebe shook her head signaling me to relax. I did so and soon enough a centaur approached and took pause at the giant ax strapped on my back before resuming.

"You're here for family day I'm assuming." the centaur said to Artemis.

"Yes and no." She responded, confusing the centaur. "Yes we are here for it but we also bring bad news."

"Can it wait until after tomorrow?" The centaur asked with hope in his voice.

"It can wait until the end of the family day celebrations for both the Greek and Roman camps." Artemis agreed. "We'll be at my cabin until it is time for dinner."

With that the centaur let us pass and we walked into the camp. I saw several people point at me and my ax before a couple ran off somewhere but I didn't really mind. As I was looking around I spotted someone familiar from school. Everybody's favorite goalkeeper.

"Danny, is that you?" I asked him out of the blue, causing him to freeze at my voice.

"Captain?" He asked, shocked. "Since when were you a demigod?"

"I only found out a little over a month ago, you?" I asked him in return.

"About three years ago, shortly after I rejected Ethan since I didn't want to date a werewolf." Danny said, rubbing the back of his neck awkwardly.

"Yeah, Ethan, Aiden, and Jackson got together." I said and his jaw dropped in shock.

"You know this boy?" Phoebe asked coldly, not towards me but in reference to Danny.

"Yeah, I used to be captain of the lacrosse team at my school and Danny was the best goalkeeper we could've asked for and a good friend, it helps that he's gay." I answered and she softened a bit.

"If you trust him then he's ok in my book." Phoebe said. "Doesn't mean I'll like him or trust him, just means I don't hate him."

"Well I'll let you get back on your way, it was nice seeing the protector of Beacon Hills again." He said jokingly.

After that I got confused looks from a few of the younger hunters who I didn't show my story to due to the graphic nature of it and the surrounding campers. The older hunters however, they laughed and joked about having a superhero among them embarrassing me.

"How do you have the minotaur's ax?" A girl with blonde hair asked out of the blue.

"I killed it and the ax was left behind." I answered plainly, not coldly but not warm either. "What's it to you?"

"It's just, that ax has a bad history with a few people in camp, more specifically the few of us still alive from the first war." She says sadly.

"I'll make sure to leave it in the cabin then, thank you for letting me know." I said gently, knowing exactly how painful bad memories could be.

She nodded before she walked away. We got into the cabin and I set my ax down beside the bed closest to the door with the word guardian engraved on it. I guess I'm placed there as a way to easier protect the others in the off chance that the camp is invaded. Afterwards another horn blew and the others started exiting the cabin excitedly.

"It's time for dinner." Thalia said and I followed them.

When we got there I followed the others to a table and sat down unsure of what was really going on. Soon enough the centaur got up front and started a speech.
