The last week of September had rolled in and a storm was brewing in the distance. It would only take a single event to unfold to provide the motive to carry on with an extreme plan based solely on revenge.

When Monday had first rolled around, Stu Macher and Billy Loomis had taken notice of Josie's absence. The girl missing school was out of character for her but when Sidney was questioned on the whereabouts of her sister she shrugged it off and told them she had a migraine and wanted to take a day to herself. So the two tried not to think much of it until Wednesday rolled around and the older Prescott girl still wasn't in school and she hadn't been at the diner either.

There Billy Loomis stood at the front door of the Prescott's house. He saw that Josie's car was in the driveway but when he had first climbed up to her room, he had found that her window was locked and the curtains were pulled back. So he had opted to try the front door so he didn't startle the girl. He had rung the doorbell but after waiting two minutes he began to knock before he rang the doorbell again. The boy saw the girls figure through the sheer curtain over the window next to the door. But she still didn't open the door as she stayed behind the door.

"Jo, I know you're there. Just let me in." Billy told her but she remained quiet.

"Jo. Come on. You gotta tell me what's wrong. You haven't been to school. I'm worried about you." Billy said. The door only cracked open slightly as she tried to hold it shut for the most part.

"Go away, Billy. I don't want to see anyone right now." Josie spoke up. The boy furrowed his brows in confusion as he tried to lightly open up the door more but he felt her weight against it.

"Jo, open the door more."

"No, Billy. Just go home." She told him as she felt him pressing on the door more. But soon enough the girl gave up fighting him as she quickly turned to walk away from him, opening up the door. She didn't want him to see her in the state that she was in. Once he had pushed his way in and was able to succeed, he saw the girl walking away.. That caused him to speed up to catch her. His hands had found their way to her waist, spinning her around to face him. Josie tried to keep her head down but he had pulled her chin up to get her to look at him.

When Billy's eyes landed on the bruises on her face, flames ignited in his brain. His hands held her face as he continued to scan over her face. He was fuming seeing these marks on her knowing that someone had caused her to have them. She kept avoiding making eye contact with the Loomis boy. She hated looking as vulnerable as she did, especially in front of him. Last Friday night was different, but now she had marks on her face that made her feel weak. It was her own fault that she got them. If she kept her mouth shut she would've been fine.

"Who did this to you?" Billy seemed to let out a hiss as he asked the girl the question. She shook her head before trying to pull his hands away from her.

"No one." She replied.

"Don't lie to me, Josie." He sternly said which made her eyes go slightly wide.

"It was my fault Billy. Just drop it." She told him.

"Who. Did. It?" Billy continued to interrogate the girl.

"I got into an argument with my mom and I tripped." She wasn't lying but she wasn't really telling him the entire truth. And he knew her too well so he could see through her with no problem.

"Josie..."

"I confronted her about what I saw the other night. Billy, it's been bugging me. And we got into an argument. She hit me but I wasn't expecting it so I stumbled and fell. I hit my face on the corner of the table. That's all that happened. I'm fine." Josie tried to assure him.

"No. She's going to wish she never even laid a hand on you." Billy stated.

"I appreciate you coming over but you should really leave now before anyone gets back home." Josie tried to lead him back over to the door.

"Is your dad still away?" He randomly questioned, she looked at him slightly confused.

"Yeah. he shouldn't be back until Sunday. Why?" Josie wondered. Billy gently grabbed her face again as he rubbed his thumb over her cheek.

"If you need a place to go to, you know you can come to my house or even Stu's. Preferably mine." He chuckled as she shook her head at him.

"I should be fine. I'm going back to school tomorrow. I have makeup that will cover the rest of this now that it has gone down a little. I won't need your safe haven." Josie told him with a small smile on her lips.

"Well the offer will always be out there. My window will be unlocked whenever you want to come in. You're more than welcome." Billy made sure to make it clear that he wanted her to come around. She stared up at him with a grateful look. But as they continued to look at one another they began to gravitate more to each other. He began to lean down towards her but at the last minute she turned away from him. She felt guilt piling up in her stomach. She couldn't let that happen. He was with Sidney. And she refused to be anything like her mother.

"I'm sorry." Billy apologized.

"You're okay. I'm sorry. I just. I can't do that to Sidney. I can't be... her." She spat the last part.

"Hey. Look at me." He instructed Josie as she looked at him.

"You are nothing like her and you will never be anything like her." No matter how bad he wanted to kiss her, he understood why she was holding back. But in his head, he at least knew that she wasn't opposed to him kissing her if the conditions were different. If he wasn't with Sidney.

"And I can promise you this. She will never touch you again." Billy assured her as he brought her into his embrace. He kissed her forehead but his focus was off in the distance. He was determined to protect Josie, no matter what. And he was more than willing to get rid of this main problem in her life if it meant her being safe.
