Connie made her way to the Smithsonian and entered the Captain America exhibit. She found her inscription and read it, as she had countless times since the captain had helped her remember herself.
A voice sounded from behind her. "You too?"
She turned to see Bucky. "I keep hoping it'll spark something, but it never does. It's the same thing over and over."
"Maybe a change of scenery will help?"
She turned to face him. "How much do you remember from your past?"
"Not a lot. But I remember you. While I don't know what we were, I do see you in my memories, and you're a good memory amidst the horror."
Connie nodded. "I remember you as well. Vaguely. Perhaps a change of scenery will help." She paused a moment. "I want to continue my nursing. And I want to eventually get married."
A small smile crossed Bucky's face. "Already? I don't remember asking to court you."
"Maybe you should ask."
As much as he wanted to, he didn't feel it was best in that moment. "How about we make our way somewhere else to try to have normality and we can work on you getting a job in nursing and getting to know each other. And then maybe we can talk about starting something."
Connie nodded. "That sounds acceptable."
Bucky smiled a little wider and offered his arm.
Connie took it and the two left the museum.
