"And so, Tarzan, Brook, and their valiant elephant friend lived happily ever after," Tantor finished telling their memory.
"Didn't they, Terk?" he looked around but only heard muffles. "Terk? Oh!" He stood up, having Terk fall to the ground. "Sorry! Sorry, Terk. You should have said something!"
"I did. You must not have heard me through the two tons of butt!" she snapped before walking to Brook.
"Anyway, Red? Maybe a party isn't the best idea," Terk shook her head.
Brook sighed, seeing their point. "Yes. Perhaps Tarzan would be uncomfortable. Maybe we can exchange gifts instead?"
"Ooh! What sort of gifts do men give women in the...civilized world?" Tantor asked.
"Well, I'm not good with gifts but there are possibilities like candy, roses, or jewelry–"
"Like a diamond?" Terk raised a brow. "Do you remember the last time Tarzan tried to get you a diamond?"
"I do remember that! That is definitely ringing a bell or two," Tantor nodded.
"I wasn't asking you, I was asking her!"
"Right! Sorry, I'll be good. Right," Tantor scooted away.
Brook sighed, remembering it very well. She looked down at her finger that was wrapped in a small thin vine. "Yes, like it was yesterday.
Flashback
Out in the sea, a boat gathered near the trading post. The driver stepped to the plank and tied the boat.
A large orange-haired man with a scowl pointed his rifle. "Watch yourself, these are dangerous lands."
"Control yourself, Merkus," A blond tall man sighed at his partner. "We wouldn't want to give the locals the wrong impression.
"Don't worry, I'll set all quick enough," Merkus scowled.
"Oh, save it for the jungle beasts, would you. We have business here." They walked to the trading post, being met with Dumont.
"And why exactly do you want to hire a guide?" Dumont frowned as he put some of his materials away.
"Forget the guide! I can handle this place!" Merkus pointed his rifle around.
"You'll have to forgive Merkus. He's full of scientific curiosity," his partner handed him a magazine to distract himself. "Sit," he ordered.
Merkus smirked as he walked to an empty spot as they continued with their conversation.
"We are volcanologists who have come to study the volcano on the far side of your jungle," Niels informed.
Dumont hummed in thought as he can only picture one person to do the job. "Well, there is only one man with the skills to help you."
