We really are like a family

And sometimes you find love in the unlikely of places. When you love someone you set them free and if they come back they're yours and if they don't they were never yours to begin with. Other times you can't let the love of your life get away. And sometimes you do crazy things for the people you love. Like somehow get into a tree and hang from it. To tell the person you love that you love them.

Which is exactly what he did. While the rest of us tried to move on. But I wasn't getting up. I was on strike. I had an instinct that Ellie would come back. Come on kid let's go. No, I'm not going. I'm laying down right here until Ellie comes back! I did exactly that. Diego rolled his eyes at me. Don't look at me like that. Just pick her up then.... Sid suggested. Sid I'm not in the mood and I will clobber you. I growled.

Well you're not really giving me much of a choice little sister. Let's go come on. He nudged his head in the other direction. I'll carry you but him. I'll do it. Manny says picking Sid up and puts him onto his back. What are you doing back? You're herd's leaving. We're about to. What's with her? Hey come on Farrah chin up don't look so blue. I heard a famine voice say.

Ellie! I cried with glee, jumping up to greet her. You came back! I sure did. I'd never leave ya sugar plum. Diego calls her over. I'll be right back. I glare at him wondering what he's up. You sure you're gonna be alright? I'm fine it's my sister I'm worried about. You really want to play with her, you really wanna see her smile? I'm not sure where this is going....

My sister as great as an assassin as she is, has the personality of a dog/wolf. She even plays like one. Trust me, go play with her. I can see we're not going anywhere for a long time. Or at least not for a little bit. Get her to roll over and move your trunk over her. She's gonna clobber you.

I'll take my chances. Ellie laughs and comes back over. What did he want? Just for me to play with you. I don't see how this can't go wrong in some way. But I play along not sure what was gonna happen if I did, but I had a pretty good idea my instincts told me don't do it it's a trap. A different part of me said just listen to her its not like she's gonna hurt you. Diego wouldn't let you get hurt, or let others hurt you. She just wants to play where's the harm in that?

So of course without thinking it through and not listening to my gut or my instincts, whether I wanted him to be or not he was right I am kind of like a dog. And before I knew it and wondering to myself why in the world I would listen to such a command I was on my back giggling. Hey?!

You're the one that listened. Ellie stop I giggled. Diego laughed. Diego I'm gonna get you I playfully scolded. Ellie had let Crash and Eddie down onto Diego when she got back, so he was carrying them. I bated her trunk away gently to be able to pull away. He turned over his shoulder as he smirked back at me and I smirked toward him to take off running.

We really were like a family. Hey Manny between me and Diego who do you like better? You don't want the answer to that Sid I teased. Diego not even close. Ok, what about the three of us. Me, Diego and Farrah. Diego, Farrah is Ellie's favorite. Told you. Diego teased back. Manny you can't pick favorites between your kids. Ellie told him.

We started this journey together as pretending to be family and now it sounded like Ellie was still treating it like that. Not that I minded Ellie was kind of like a mom. Not that she could ever replace our parents, but she's certainly motherly. And then Sid asked for a dog. Manny said no. He asked Ellie she said yes. Manny said they had to be consistent with him.

Besides why do we need a sec dog? Diego teased. I lifted an eyebrow. Diego where are you going with this? You're not a dog but you sure act like one. He smirked teasingly at me. That's it your asking for it! I growled playfully ready to lunge at him and clobber him, give him a piece of my mind a taste of his own medicine. But Ellie wrapped her trunk around me and picked me up and put me on her back.

Nice try little lady. Diego don't test her, don't egg her on. She's my little sister how can I not? Come on let's get moving. Now we're moving. On ward march. Sid called. Diego shook his head. Come on it will be dark before you know it we've got a long way to travel.
