And so down we went, following close behind. Well sorta. We saw them all enter the cave, and as I went forward Diego pulled me back. Hey, whoa are you nuts?! We can't just go down there we don't know what's down there or what dangers lie ahead. That's whole adventure part of the idea. This is what you wanted remember? Some adventure, well here we go.
Look my friend just got taken by a dinosaur, and I was almost taken with her.... You can stay up here all you want but I'm going in after our friends, our.... T: Family.... I turned to run off, I ran ahead. Farrah wait up he called after me. As he chased after me, but I was faster. Man I hate when she's right he mumbled to himself.
Meanwhile the rest of us were looking around amazed at the world around us, that how incredible it was that there was a world right under us and we had no idea that it even existed. And Manny and Ellie thought that they were big. But now the dinosaurs were back, and it turns out they weren't really ever gone.
While we were all running for our lives, I managed to catch up to the gang, with my brother following close behind. Farrah wait up! Farrah, you came back. Yeah hi came to find Sid same as you all, let's talk later. Diego what are you doing here? Sight seeing, came to find Sid same as you! Well aren't you noble?! Both: Not the time guys! Yeah, we need all the help we can get.
That thing almost took my sister, she was able to get a way. If she's going after it, then so am I! I'm not leaving my sister behind or at all ever again! Well, ok let's get going, Ellie said waving some leaves in front of a dinosaur so we could slide down its back. Just like rolling down the cliff side in logs except without the logs. Not the same thing kid, not the same thing once so ever! Diego scolded.
How would you know you didn't join us? Whoo who! I cheered. Let's never do that again Manny reminded us. Hopefully we won't ever have to. I feel so tiny. It's actually kind of cool. Well that's not much of a difference for you squirt you're the runt of the pack. He smirks. I lunge at him and pin him. Say that again Diego I dare you! He smirks up at me as if he dares to deify me, but gets cut off when a bunch of tiny little red things explode making all the dinosaurs go away.
A possum a lot like Crash and Eddie named Buck appears and introduces himself and then tells us to leave this place. We said we weren't leaving without our friend, Buck says he's probably dead by now and that we should get going. Hey look, I point out hopping off Diego to find the tracks on the ground. Well its your funeral friends you'll find your friend if you follow that trail, in the after life.
Then it's like a Dora episode, in order to get lava falls first we gotta go through the jungle of misery, across the chasm of death, to the plates of woe and that's how we get to lava falls where we'd find Sid. We tried to move forward, but then came the big warning. A beast unlike any other, a beast that Buck calls Rudy. A beast that would be no match for us.
That, that's how he lost his eye, and now has his eye patch, but his sword was made out of a tooth, and after warning us, Manny refused to listen and away we all went down the path in order to get to the jungle to save Sid. Manny maybe we should've taken Buck's advice and be careful.
Diego where's your sense of adventure I teased? You're all the adventure I'll ever need kid. He chuckles. I'm really not that much younger than you. You're still my kid sister. See that's what I don't understand, you call me kid and you treat me like a child, now anyways.... But you want nothing to do with the one they're about to have.
It's not my child. Why should I be the one getting all excited? Cause we're a.... We're a.... *sigh* maybe you're right Diego. I mean is a herd really a family, we don't look anything alike. We had a family once, it's gone, Manny had a family once and now he's about to get his second chance, the only way we'd ever get a second chance is if one of us was married and started having kids. And that's not gonna happen.
Suddenly we stop.... I stop, I'm traveling close to the back. Diego stops and looks back at me, he sees I'm not moving forward. As I casually stroll forward cautiously looking around. What's the matter kiddo? What happened to your wonderful energized sense of adventure? Knock it off, I mumble back to him.
You're right Diego. Maybe this isn't our adventure, this isn't OUR family. We don't belong here. There's something else that's wrong, but it has nothing to do with that. I feel I feel.... What? What's wrong? Miserable. I say nearly clasping to the jungle floor. Farrah come on get up, he encourages. It's just in the name kid, but what's in a name its just called that.... If you play dead you'll be dead.
Diego, I FEEL dead. I physically have no motivation to get up and move. He lifts me up, pushing me up with his head. Maybe your blood pressure is just low, or you're dehydrated. There's gotta be something to eat or drink in this jungle of misery. Whatever you find will probably make me more miserable they wouldn't just call it that for no reason. it's like the jungle has zapped away all my energy it found the most energized being and used it for its own gain.
That's not possible, now come on work with me here. I'll put you on my back and walk on nice and carefully. So, tired.... Farrah no, please no. Hey Diego, if I lose all my lives, will I revert back to my natural form? Don't talk like that kid just.... You're gonna be ok. How you holding up Ellie? I question her. Huh? Oh sweetheart what's wrong? She asks me running her trunk over my head. It's the jungle of misery I cough, it's zapped away all of my energy.
Yeah, sweetie I feel it too. Maybe it's the baby? Manny questions. What no.... Ellie assures him. Maybe your blood pressure is low, I'll find you something to eat. Manny she questions him. Diego rushes up after him. I wouldn't do that if I were you. He scolds. Yeah Manny this isn't exactly your playground I mumble. Please like I'm gonna be scared of a pretty flower.
But as soon as he reaches for it the flower is trying to eat us alive. Bet you didn't see that coming?! Diego questions. When the plant tries to eat us Ellie and her brother try to attack it. But Buck advises against it. That if she does that the plant will feel threatened and continue to try to digest us. For the record I blame you for this! Diego tells Manny. Don't fight.... I tiredly scold. Whoa wait I'm starting to feel all tingly. Don't say that when your pressed up against me.
Both: Not that kind of tingly! Whoa wait I'm starting to feel it too. Some form of water is coming up at us. We're being digested. It's gonna kill us. Hold your breath. My brother instructs. Don't have much breath to hold big brother. Stay with me kid. Just stay with me. Buck comes shooting into the plant, and looks at the insides like he's cutting the wires to a bomb. Then it explodes and barfs us up. Plant gone, lives saved. I call that a win-win.
Wake up kiddo, you're alright. *Ug* I groan covered in slime. I don't feel so good. Thanks for saving us Buck. Will you help us find the floppy green thing. That's not necessary Manny says. Both: Yes it is! Ellie and I argue back. Buck agrees to help us. Fine, but if I'm gonna help you first I've got some rules.... Which we will hear in the next chapter.
