Starting right now! What I said in the next chapter we'd hear Buck's rules, that's starting right now. Here they are, you might want to write these down or remember them or something. I'm only listing these once, so don't forget them. *clears throat* Rule # 1 always listen to Buck! Rule # 2 Always stay in the middle of the trail, and rule number 3 probably the most important.... Are you ready for this? He who has gas travels at the end of the pack, and that means Crash and or Eddie is traveling at the back.
While Manny makes his sarcastic comment that we should all have our heads examined, which is ironically enough rule # 4. But he assured us at the end of all this we'd find our friend, and hopefully alive. Where Sid was he was beginning to wake up feeling nauseous from all the swaying that mama dinosaur was doing, she carefully set her babies down, but then tried to eat Sid while he tried to negotiate custody of HER children.
And because the babies thought of Sid as their mother since he hatched them, they weren't gonna let anyone or anything hurt him. Sid one Mama zero! Back with us we did exactly what Buck asked of us while we had concern for Sid and if Rudy was gonna find him. And more immortally us. Which was a given, and Buck wasn't making us feel any better about the idea.
Then there was my brother, he was up front next to Buck asking him about living down here, with nothing but his wits, no responsibilities, a life full of adventure all day everyday. I happened to catch bits and pieces of what he was saying, and that made me upset. Diego wanted to live down here? Just because he wanted more adventure in his life?! I don't want to leave my brother again or be apart from him, but living down here.... That's too dangerous, we're not big and furious down here, we weren't so "big" up there either but we were pretty much at the top of the food chain aside from the humans.
I'd be all alone again, I wouldn't want to stay down here, we were supposed to be here for one purpose and one purpose only to get Sid and go back home. Staying here and living here is where I'd cross the line. I didn't want to have to go back without my brother, I'd miss him too much, but it sounds like he'd gone and made up his mind already. I hung my head in sadness. No responsibilities? He's still the lone "wolf" that he changed into after our parents death. I'm not gonna go as far as to say he was "responsible" for me, I can take care of myself.... But he's still my big brother, and we're still family.
He keeps saying how proud he is and how glad he is to be my big brother and to take care of me and be responsible for me, but at the same time he wants to be left alone, and go on his own and have a life full of adventure. To have no responsibilities. I began to slink back behind I didn't want to hear that anymore, not if it meant that my only blood family was gonna leave me. And this time it would be him that was leaving, after he just got me back not too long ago. I could only hope that Ellie wouldn't notice or she'd ask.
That is until he got on the "phone" with someone, phone being a rock. He started talking to this imaginary person, and how we were going into the chasm of death, and how he was helping us find our "dead" sloth friend, and that we thought he was crazy, but he probably thought it was the other way around, our crazy idea of trying to find our friend of the hopes he's still alive, and or for following him or coming down here in the first place. Manny turned to Diego and reminded him that Buck would be him in 3 weeks.
Maybe less then that without anyone around. I smirked slyly with a hint of sadness in my voice as I mumbled these words under my breath, only slightly loud enough for him to barely hear what I said as I kept going along keeping pace with Buck while everyone else had stopped while he made his phone call. By the time we got the chasm of death, there was a little elevator waiting for us for Buck to take us to the other side of safety.
He had Ellie step in first. Manny said he didn't want her going in there, that there was no way. But rule # 1 always listen to Buck. Then he wanted me to go with her. Cool! I yipped wagging my tail in glee. As I began to try and step on. But Diego got in the way.... What do you think you're doing?! You can't stop me! We all have to go at some point. Just go with us then.
No, I'm going with Ellie. Farrah?! I turned and growled at him like I was gonna pounce at him, and he flinched jumping back. He knew I only did that when I was upset/angry at him or annoyed with him/ he'd gone and annoyed me. That it wasn't my playful kind of growl that it was my I'm serious leave me alone growl. As my eyes shown their evil "hungry/anger" "color." My eyes wide, my teeth barred the evil cat slit looking eyes close to the way it would look had it been night and I was using my night vision.
He gave me a concerned and worried look, like he was gonna say something, but I turned my back on him and got onto the device. As Buck told us not to breathe in the in the toxic fumes or we might die if we did. Before we could say anything we held our breath and we went down, down, down until we came up, up, up and back to safety. Now it was the guys turn.
They were having a bit of technical difficulty. Then Crash and Eddie let go of their breath and breathed in the fumes to learn that they weren't dead, they just sounded funny. Everyone started laughing. Buck told them not to. Hearing the guys laugh, it was hard to imagine my brother let alone either of the guys laughing like the way they were, that just the thought of it made me crack a smile and a smile chuckle. Btu Ellie had to go and ask what was wrong with them laughing, for Buck to turn around and tell us that the others before us had died laughing.
Buck went back to try and make them stop, but then he started laughing and then it was just Ellie and I left, and so we had to pull the rope attached to get them to safety, and to normal breathable air again. And once we did that we were off once again.
After that it goes back to Sid to that he's trying to turn meat eaters into vegetarians, but the baby dinosaurs didn't want that, they wanted meat, but Sid wasn't having any of it, while Sid argued with the mama dinosaur. He was trying to have a civil convo with an animal that spoke no English, and all he was getting was grr. And then Roar! When they heard Rudy calling and they all ran away to go find a safer place to settle down. While Sid was worried wondering that wasn't she the biggest thing down here, that what could she possibly be afraid of.
And we were getting closer and closer to looking for a spot to settle down for the night, well this should be interesting. Farewell until then.
