I can't sleep! (9/1/99)

Dear Diary,

Well, I've finished packing my bags, which took WAYYY longer than I had expected. What now?

Madeleine tucked me in and told me about how proud he was of me as his little sister, making a name for herself at such a young age, but I don't think he would be proud of the fact that I'm still up after 2 hours. Anddddd the fact that I lied about packing my bags wayyy later than he would've wanted me to.

The point is, I can't sleep. I am just too excited! I have literally been up for the past hour thinking about what my professors will look like or how nice they are or even if they're actually as smart as I was told they were!
There has to be a solution to this!

I know!

Maybe if I write all the numbers up to a hundred, I'll just fall dead asleep and wake up early enough so I can at least have time to get ready for school! Yeah! I'll do that!

1, 2, 3, 4- nevermind. That's BORING! Maybe there's something else that'll put me to sleep!

I could ask Madeleine to tuck me back in again, but I'd most likely wake up again, trying to find more dumb ways to fall asleep.

This is so annoying! I am literally going to a famous school in a famous city with I think? Famous teachers!

And I...can't even fall asleep.

Madeleine's a good sleeper, what would HE do to instantly fall asleep? He said something about "yardy yada milk yardy yada warm yardy yada fall asleep in no time."
Putting all those important words together; milk, warm and fall asleep in no time should tell me that I should make a warm glass of milk! Perfect!

Well, goodnight! (If I can say that since I haven't been able to sleep for the past 5 HOURS!)
