"Well," Pastuzo watched from Alada's. "I knew anything is possible."
"Hey," Kevin greeted. "Luis, I'll have the usuals, please," he ordered. "So, how are you, Pastuzo?"
"What do you think?" Pastuzo asked.
"Whatever, man," Kevin said.
"Yeah, yeah," Pastuzo agreed. "Where is Quinn, Scent, and that fat slob?"
"Don't call Rudy that, he is still a friend," Kevin said. "And two, it is not Friday, isn't it? No one comes here on Friday, well, except you all of a sudden."
"You know what, Kevin," Pastuzo realized. "I realized now that I can actually be free, to do whatever I want," he said. "I don't need some school telling me what to do. Shit, I don't even need some fucking nanny or pappy telling me what to do," he said. "I realized that life is life if you live, and if you live it, you control it, you run, you fight, you live, by your own, free man, you get me?"
"Yeah, you can say that," Kevin agreed. "I guess you can be and think however you like. I like that you are letting it all out, no?" he said. "But, is there something else I need to know about, something I should be concerned of as your friend?"
Pastuzo mourned, "You sound just... like... her,"
Kevin breathed in. "Look, man, I am trying my best for you, we're the best of friends, remember?"
Pastuzo remembered too well. "Of course," he said. "Ever since you, came to my table, despite being a kid possibly going to demotion."
"You were the only one kind enough to be by my side," Kevin said. "Like an eel and shrimp, if you get what I mean?"
