Chapter Summary:

"By the way, what's your name?" the other boy asked in curiosity and partly so that he could find the child again in the future.

"Kaedehara Kazuha." the boy smiled.

"I'll be going then," the nameless boy flashed a smile to the other. He then stood up and brushed the dirt off him before going home.

When they first met, the smaller child had been sitting in a park. His back against a tree. He had held his legs to his chest as he sat unmoving, completely silent. Prior to sitting in the park, he had run from home in hopes of escaping having to quietly listen to negotiations between his parents and others. The fact that he was so bothered about having to listen probably came from the fact that he was the one that had to inherit the business.

In all honesty, he had wholly believed that selling the business would have been a much better choice. What good could a child who couldn't stay still be anyway?

The child sat staring down at the ground. Why did he have to be the one to take over the business anyway? It wasn't like his family even cared for him as much as he'd hoped for them too. It was as if the only reason they had conceived him was so as to have an heir to their business albeit he was quite useless.

Which parent punishes their child for a mistake that every child makes and still has the audacity to say that they love him. The child, in this reflective stage, failed to monitor his surroundings. Thus, he had been unable to detect another child coming along his way.

"Hey, what's a kid like you sitting out here at night?" a voice could be heard speaking to him. Breaking out of his trance, he found that a boy around his age had sat down next to him for reasons unbeknownst to him.

"Speak for yourself."

The words slipped out of his mouth before he could even register them. Curse his poor mouth filter. He silently observed the other boy watching as shock overcame the other's expression.

"Um.." he attempted.

"No, no, I was just surprised, that's all," the other boy smiled at him.

Wait... the other boy smiled at... him? It was all alien to the boy. He had never had someone smile so genuinely at him. He found it funny. So, he let out a small chuckle. This action had surprised the other boy once again.

'Why is he so cute?' the other boy's face reddened. If only the boy had been in his class. Maybe his classes would be more bearable for the 8-year-old. Now that he thought about it, he had never seen the boy around his school. Curious.

"Hey stranger, how come I've never seen you in school?" the 8-year-old asked the boy who was initially sitting there. He really wanted to know why. He seemed to be rather eloquent so it would be impossible if he didn't go to school.

He watched as the pretty boy who had been at the park longer than he sheepishly rubbed the back of his head. "See... I'm kind of homeschooled...?" he said but quickly added "but I'm going to actual school soon!" seeing disappointment spread across the other's face.

After saying as he did, he saw the other's face light up. This gave the boy a bit of reassurance.

He silently opened the door and went up to the room he shared with his older sisters. He walked into the room and locked eyes with one of his older sisters. They stared at each other wordlessly before the boy climbed into his bed. He stared at the ceiling slipping into unconsciousness.

The very next day, as he was going to class, he felt a smaller boy bump into him. "Hey! What was that about?" he demanded at the smaller boy who had bumped into him.

He then heard a soft voice apologising to him. That voice. The boy was sure that he had heard it before. When? He wasn't quite so sure. It had occurred to him that he has met many people considering his family's influential position. Thus, he had not thought much of it and just made his way to class.

The boy who had initially bumped into the unnamed boy stood in the hallway staring as he watched the back of the other boy slowly grow smaller.

"Now... where was my class again?"
