beomgyu's pov

i made my way to my bedroom. so many things ran through my head, but the two people that crowded my headspace the most were hueningkai and soyeon.

hueningkai was a gentle person, i admitted that much. although i would never forgive him for what he was about to do to soyeon back in the mountains, he still deserved to have father's upmost respect. my father, unlike hueningkai, was a ruthless man that didn't seem to cease a limit when it came to greed. he would go as far as marrying his sons to have stronger foundations.

but that was not me.

i wasn't going to be that son.

no more letting him destroy me and use me at his advantage.

my legs took two stair steps at the same time. the raving eagerness to see soyeon again was eating me alive. the last time i had seen her face, there were tears trailing over her cheeks.

i had managed to make her cry once again. i thought that had stopped a while ago.

when i arrived at my bedroom wing, i ran to my bedroom and opened the doors wide open. my eyes scanned the entire room. there were only three faces in the room.

yeonjun, changbin, and jeongin. no soyeon or taehyun.

i looked at all three and frowned.

"where is soyeon? did she leave to the garden again?"

"why would she leave to go to the garden knowing your dad is here, huh?" yeonjun said standing from his chair and letting out a loud sigh.

i turned to look at my closet. with slow steps, i walked in. the door to my gaming room was open. how...?

"who opened that door?"

"i did." changbin said walking to stand beside me.

"how did you..."

"when you have someone you genuinely care about, beomgyu, you become vulnerable." he said facing me.

i turned to face him with a frown.

"what do you mean?"

"it's not difficult to guess your password anymore. the answer is always around you."

being mysterious had always been my charm, but ever since i had met soyeon, it began to transform into a beautiful and wonderful openness that felt so refereshing and sensational, yet, it was my weakness. lee soyeon was, indeed my weakness.

"so, where is soyeon?" i asked again, hoping to get a real answer this time.

changbin was about to open his mouth when my phone rang. i didn't hesitate to answer the call. without checking the contact, i quickly answered.

"hello?"

"beomgyu, it's me. kang taehyun."

"taehyun?"

everyone in the room turned to look at me as i said his name.

"yes. can you get out of the house for a bit? i'll pick you up."

"do you know where soyeon is?"

"yes. please meet me outside. i'll be there soon."

soyeon's pov

taehyun walked me through the back gate of the house where a car was already waiting for us. as soon as we got on, the car moved froward and the big castle slowly shrank with the spending distance.

it was impossible to keep the tears from rolling out. thankfully it was dark in the car. nonetheless, taehyun held my hand in comfort.

"please don't cry, soyeon. i'm pretty sure beomgyu will refuse and be his strongest stubborn self to hold any marriage events from happening."
