Scritch scratch
The sound of pen on paper
I scribble away
Sounds blend together
Time passes
I dot the final dot
Blow on the paper
Those unspoken desires
Roll up that scrap
Of brittle fibre
God forbid it break in half
Resembling a heart
Again, the paper's old
So old that it's
On the verge of disintegrating
Ancient like my grandma (sorry, Granny)
I try to fit it in
Why's the paper so thin?
The bottle's too small
Is this another resemblance?
Going once, going twice
SOLD
It's gone, gone, gone,
Gone and never coming back again
Here lies a heart
Trampled over
Destroyed
Horrendously disfigured
Tell her
'It's a message'
Bottling up those messages
Turning desires into words
Hey hey hey!! Did you know, the first word of the letter in each stanza spells 'straight'? Lovely. I was listening to Message in A Bottle by Taylor Swift (Red, Taylor's Version!!), and got a teeny weeny bit of inspiration yasss
