Lumi was on her way to school when she saw her friend, Blaze. She ran up to him. "Hi!" she greeted. "Where's Amber?"

"She's not feeling well today. Sucks to be her, because I heard we're getting a new student in homeroom," Blaze told Lumi.

"Poor Amber," Lumi sighed.

"Wait up!" someone called. Lumi turned to see the Walker family coming towards her. Unlike Lumi and Blaze's parents, who stopped walking their kids to school when they went into third grade, Jay and Nya walked their kids to school.

"Hi, uncle Jay," Lumi greeted. Jay was not blood-related to her, but she still thought of him as an uncle. "Aunt Nya."

Blaze smiled. "Hey!"

Lilian greeted them. "Hello, friends," Jake and James said in unison.

"It's so creepy when you guys talk in unison, you know that?" Lumi asked.

Nya shook her head. "I know. They always freak me out."

Blaze grabbed my hand. "Look, Bylur's waiting for us!"

Bylur nodded at Lumi and Blaze as they caught up to him. "Hello," he greeted.

The Walkers caught up too. "Hey Bylur!" Lilian smiled.

"We have exactly three minutes to get to class or we will be late," Bylur announced.

"What?!" Blaze yelled. "How?!"

"It doesn't matter," Lumi said. Lumi grabbed Blaze's hand and they ran towards the building.

Lilian, Jake, and James headed into Mr. Canard's class. Bylur went into Ms. Lina's class. Lumi and Blaze finally got to their homeroom, Ms. Johnson, just as the bell rang.

"We made it!" Lumi exclaimed. Blaze and Lumi high fived like they do whenever they defeat a villian.

Lumi sat down. On her right was an empty seat. On her left was her friend Katie. Unlike the rest of her friend group, Katie wasn't a ninja, or the child of a ninja, and she didn't even know Lumi was a ninja.

The door opened and a guy walked in. He had black hair with a purple streak. His eyes were the same color as the streak in his hair. He was handsome, so many of the girl's started blushing as he walked in.

"This is our new student, Asrar," Ms. Johnson announced. "Interesting name. Does it mean something?"

"Yes," Asrar said boredly. He didn't further elaborate. "Where should I sit?"

"Sit by Lumi. She'll show you around for your next class, since you're new. I'll write you a pass to skip your next class, Lumi," Ms. Johnson explained.

"One question : who's Lumi?" Asrar asked.

Ms. Johnson pointed at Lumi. "That's her."

Asrar sat in the empty seat next to Lumi. He didn't even glance her way.

Blaze turned around and mouthed something to Lumi. He appeared to be saying, "I feel like I recognize him."

Lumi mouthed back, "I don't."

Blaze furrowed his eyebrows. "You sure?"

"Care to share what you two are talking about?" Ms. Johnson asked Lumi and Blaze, suddenly appearing right next to them.

Blaze smiled. "We were just saying how much we love this class."

Ms. Johnson raised an eyebrow. "If you say so." She returned to the front of class.

"Okay, remember that they are having a dance for all junior students next week," Ms. Johnson reminded the class. "Feel free to talk amongst yourselves until the end of class."

Blaze spun around in his seat to face Lumi. "A dance? I know who I'm going to ask," Blaze smiled. "Do you think she'll say yes?" Blaze had a huge crush on Katie.

Lumi glanced at Katie, who was reading a book called The Fates Divide. Lumi had never read it, but Katie had told her all about it. She turned back to Blaze. "You'll never know unless you ask."

Blaze sighed. "I know."

Katie looked up from her book. "Who are you going to ask, Blaze?"

Blaze laughed nervously and Katie smiled. "It's fine if you don't want to tell me. I understand that we aren't that close."

"No!" Blaze said quickly. "That's not it at all!"

While Blaze tried to come up with a lie to buy himself more time, Lumi looked at Asrar, who was staring at the desk like it was an interesting painting.

"Hello," Lumi greeted. The new boy didn't reply. "What's your next class?"

Asrar glared at Lumi. "Why do you care?"

"Because I have to give you a tour," Lumi explained.

"Fine. My first class is . . ." He paused to look down at his schedule. "Gym."

"Great!" Lumi smiled. "That's my next class too."

So when the bell rang, Lumi began showing an incredibly bored Asrar around for an hour.

"And our last thing . . . this is the cafeteria," Lumi ended, pointing at the rows upon rows of lunch tables. "We eat fifth period with the seniors. The freshmen and sophomores eat fourth period. Understand?"

Aziz nodded. Lumi smiled. She began walking towards AP Ninjago History, when she felt arms grab her wrists. "Whoa!" Lumi gasped at Asrar kept her from going to class. "What are you doing?" Lumi wondered.

"I saw the roster. I know you're Lloyd Garmadon's daughter. He was a ninja, which means you're a ninja," Asrar said.

"You're very smart. I've been going to school with these people for eleven years and they couldn't figure it out, but you figured it out in less than a day," Lumi smiled.

Asrar glared at her. "I. Hate. Ninja."

"How come?" Lumi asked.

"Do you really not know who I am?" Asrar questioned, confused on how she didn't realize what was going on yet.

"Why would I know who you are?" Lumi frowned.

"I'll give you a hint," Asrar promised. "My father possessed your father."

"Wait . . . You aren't saying what I think you're saying . . ."

"Yes, Lumi. I am the son of Morro."
