Description: Meredith makes up her mind about leaving Seattle, but she faces a bit of backlash for it.
A/N: Inspiration for this came from season eighteen where Meredith had her minor breakdown a few episodes back. Don't even talk about the finale because of that hurt, that killed me. Author POV:
"Fine, we can stay...but just for a little while." Nick hugs Meredith after listening to her opinion.
"Thank you, I love you," Nick says
"Love you more." Meredith kisses him.
"Not possible, darling." Nick holds her tightly.
Mia comes outside for some fresh air after putting her siblings to bed.
She has gotten used to Nick and her mother being together, they had been together for almost a year now. But she wasn't aware of this big decision that her mother just made for her. This would change her life, it would ruin it.
"Oh, hey. Sorry to ruin your moment, I'll go to the backyard." Before she heads back inside, she's stopped by her mother.
"No, it's okay, babe. We were just talking about Minnesota and we made a decision." Meredith says
"Huh?" Mia crosses her arms.
"We're staying here for a little while until the residency program gets better and then we'll go. What do you think?" Meredith seems excited, whereas Mia's mouth is left agape.
"I'm wondering if they take back doctorate degrees because you've completely lost your mind is what I think! Our family is here! Seattle is our home! Do you not care about our people here? About people, you would be leaving behind? All for some money and your name in a few books?" She argues
"Mia, do not talk down to me. I am yourmother." Meredith warns
"Far from a decent one!" Mia snickers
"Honey..." Nick tries to calm Mia down.
"It's my decision, and I'm not changing it. We're going to move there in about three months." Meredith asserts
"Yeah, you can. I'm not!" Mia scoffed
"What are you talking about? I'm your mother so you're coming with me." She demanded
