Description: Mia feels neglected by her parents with the new addition of Ellis, and it starts to take a toll on her.
A/N: This is pretty similar to an old chapter that I had, but I switched it up a bit. Hope you're all doing well and that you're enjoying what's left of this summer. Enjoy!
——————————————————————Mia POV:
Ever since Ellis was born, I've practically become a full-time mother to Zola and Bailey which is pretty stressful, but that's not what I hate. I hate that my parents are never around anymore. I've always been singled out since Zola was in the picture, and then it just escalated with Bailey and now Ellis.
The baby always cries, so we barely get any sleep. I'm not mad at her though, I'm just pissed that my parents forgot about me again.
I have my dance competition coming up and I'm doing a duet with my boyfriend, Austin. We've only been dating for a few months behind closed doors, but we've been best friends since kindergarten. I'm grateful that I have him, he's always there for me when I need him and I can always count on him. I most likely would've spiralled into depression if it wasn't for him.
Once I finish getting Zola and Bailey ready for school, I help get their lunches packed and start to head out the door as they say goodbye to Mom and Dad.
"Bye, babies, have a good day." They said
"Bye, have a good day at work." I smile, but I get no response in return.
Not even a look in my direction, ouch.
It was no surprise, I should be used to it by now. I feel more like a babysitter than a sister or even a daughter at this point. I guess I'll just have to deal with it until I move out for college. Maybe then I'll have peace of mind.

When I get to school I see Austin waiting for me by the door.
"Hey, pretty. How is your morning going so far?" He kissed me and took my hand in his.
He makes me feel so loved, he makes me happy.
"Better, now that you're here. How is yours doing?" I rested my head on his shoulder as we walked through the halls.
"Same as you. Are you excited about the competition tomorrow? Are your parents coming this time?" He asks
"Uh, I don't know yet. I told them about it the other day, but they'll probably be busy with work or Ellis." I sigh
"I'm sorry, that's unfair to you. You've worked so hard in dance and it's just a shame that they won't be able to see it." He wrapped his arms around me as I get my books from my locker.
"It's fine, it is what it is. I'll see you at lunch?" I tell
"Yeah. Bye, have a good day." He kisses my cheek before letting me go.
