Dear Shadows,
I open my eyes to a world of white. Colour was the first privilege taken from me. Simple white padded walls lined the room, the built in mirror in the wall showed me the only specks of colour in this dreary world. I see her again, like me she cannot leave her cage of glass, she can only observe. I move my head and she moves hers, mimicking my every move, dull green eyes and faded light hair stare back at me, hollow cheeks and dark circles seem to sap the life away from her. I'm the corner of my mind a faint picture cries out struggling to break to the front of my thoughts. A girl, with bright emerald eyes and golden hair flowing in the breeze appears, she takes a step towards Him, the edges of His mouth turn upwards into a grin as His eyes sparkle as He holds out his arms, waiting for her embrace. A desperate scream rips me from the picture, my raw throat claiming it as my own. They arrive and grab me to halt my thrashing, whispering words to me, to each other. Their interference never solves anything, they cannot take my brain from my skull to cleanse it, they can only wait.Love,
Madelynn
