Over the next few days, Melody and Damien fell even more for each other and he started to even go to her high school. Nobody suspected anything, not even other students, which Melody found odd. They were the talk of the school, which made them be labeled the "perfect couple." Melody had many people she had only seen in the hallways come up to her and talk to her nicely, which is yet again very unusual. Many girls at her school were hitting on Damien for the first week or two, but it didn't worry Melody at all since she knew Damien wouldn't do anything like that, right? "Are you alright? You seem tense, something bothering you?" Damien asked. "I'm alright, just everything is different." Melody replied. "What do you mean by different?" "So many people talk to me now, in the halls and in class, I find it odd. I understand that you and I are a thing, but what made them like me or make me, so called, popular?" "Yeah, that is pretty weird. Not saying you're weird or anything like that, what I mean is that why now? It's probably because you're with me and, come on, I am pretty attractive compared to every other guy here." 'That isn't cocky at all' Melody thought to herself. "Whatever, just forget I ever said anything. Not a big deal anyway, it'll probably blow over in a week or something." Melody walked away with neither of them saying anything else.
Everything in her life was changing so quickly, and Melody was clearly mad at Damien for his blunt behavior. So, Damien decided to take Melody on a date to hopefully cheer her up. One of Melody's favourite places is the swings at the park near her apartment since it reminds her of her childhood, before she had to move away from her hometown all alone. Damien knew that would be the best place for this date, and even thought about bringing her favourite snacks. "Hey, you wanna go to the park after school?" Damien asked. "Sure, but not for too long. I have an art project due on Friday and can't procrastinate on it. Unlike you who only cares about himself." Melody responded. "Alright, see you then" Damien said with a sigh.
