Damien waited at the park for what seemed like forever, when it was only at most 15 minutes. Melody didn't forget, she actually just went to drop off her stuff at her apartment. While Melody was about to walk out of the lobby, she saw someone she wished she never had seen again. It was her father. She immediately ran away while all those horrible memories played through her mind wishing he never found her. At this point, Damien was messaging and calling her non-stop questioning where she was and Melody finally answered on the fifth call. Damien could hear her crying over the phone and tracked her location knowing she wasn't in the mood for the date anymore. They went back to her apartment after Damien found her sitting on the side of the road.
Melody had told Damien about her past, which no one here in this city knew about until now, and he wasn't entirely shocked. She was confused as to why he didn't seem so surprised, especially since her parents had abused her almost her whole life. Melody had a big scar on her back from what she calls the worst day of her life. "Can I trust you?" Melody asked Damien, still weary of his trust. "Yeah of course, why wouldn't you?" Damien responded. "I don't know, I just am not used to trusting people easily." but Melody still had suspicions after he said that. "Alright, I'm going to show you something only my closest friends have seen." Melody proceeded to show Damien the large scar going down her back with tears streaming down her face. Damien sat there in shock and confusion. He didn't understand how someone could do such a thing, especially to their own child! Damien didn't say anything, he just hugged her at that moment. Melody's dad left without a trace later that day.
