Dream and George became painfully aware of a six-month trip George had planned many months prior. George couldn't cancel at this point, so the two wouldn't see eachother for a long while.
It upset Dream quite a bit as he had become very fond of George. In a way, he knew those next few months would feel extremely lonely and that he wouldn't get the chance to see George every day.
"I feel like I shouldn't be upset..." Dream mumbled.
"What do you mean?" Jackie asked.
"I've only known him for a couple months... We aren't even that close. He still doesn't even know my name."
"Well, I'd say you are pretty close. From what I've seen, you're both really happy and in your element when you're together. It's nice to see you happy for the first time since, what? Freshman year?"
"Yeah, I guess so. I just feel like I'm being clingy," He chuckled.
"You might be, bit I don't see him complaining," Jackie shrugged. "Seriously, Clay, you're allowed to feel sad." Dream nodded in response.
"I suppose," He smiled.
Jackie left a few minutes later and Dream walked to the café. George and him hadn't planned on meeting there that day, or any day for the next six months, but Dream needed to experience the space.
The day he met George was the anniversary of his parents' death. His heart ached and something about George's entire personality was like ice on a fresh burn. A new experience that Dream absolutely needed.
Since that day, Dream hadn't been alone in his thoughts for a long time. Any time he felt the same pain in his chest, he could talk to George and it would go away. Six months without George shouldn't be a big deal, but deep down, Dream knew it would be.
"Uhm- excuse me? Is someone sitting here?" Dream looked up and shook his head softly, a bit confused. No one had ever wanted to sit by him in the café except... George.
"I'm sorry- uhm. Do I know you?" He asked softly, watching as the brunette stranger sat down.
"I don't believe so. I'm Warren." The stranger held his hand out for Dream to shake and Dream grabbed it hesitantly.
"Clay." He answered, still unsure what possessed Warren to sit next to him.
"Nice to meet you," Warren smiled. Dream gave him a small smile back and they talked back and forth for a good thirty minutes. "I should probably get going. Can I get your number?" Warren asked.
Dream nodded softly and put his number in the stranger's phone. Seconds later, he received a simple 'hi' from what he assumed was Warren's number, and then the two exchanged their goodbyes.
Dream figured that was enough and made his way back to his place where he would call George almost immediately.
"A random guy gave me his number," Dream chuckled.
"I told you you were hot, to be fair." George giggled.
"I don't typically believe people like you."
"Oh, people like me, huh?"
"Sassy idiots, yeah." Dream laughed.
"I'll remember that when you finally come to your senses and want to make out sober."
Dream rolled his eyes.
"You wish." He scoffed.
"You're right," George replied. "I most certainly do. You're a fantastic kisser."
"How would you remember? We were drunk both times."
"Some experiences are worth remembering..." George mumbled. The call took on a heavy silence as the two re-realized what would be happening the next six months. George coughed, hoping to change the subject. "Was the guy atleast cute?"
"He was. Not quite as fiery as you, though." Dream chuckled.
"And that's obviously a bad thing because I'm. Perfect." George joked.
"You really are. I can't believe you're leaving."
"Hey... it's not forever. I'll be back. You'd be insane if you think I'd ever leave without one last kiss, at least."
"Oh so I'm like- good good, huh?" Dream asked, mostly kidding.
"You are!" George confirmed, completely serious.
"God, I love this." Dream mumbled. "I haven't had a friend in so long."
"Neither have I. Twinsies." Geirge chuckled.
"Really? You're so likeable though. You're like a magnet."
"I attract assholes, honestly. Nine times out of ten they want sex. You've been a nice refresher." George smiled despite Dream's inability to see it through the phone.
"You're attractive so yeah, I'd assume lots of men are awful to you."
"They really are. Especially in my line of work. It's like they don't have personalities and all they think is 'me want fuck.' Like- some of us have some class."
"I couldn't imagine. It does seem kinda fun, though. Fucking as a job, I mean," Dream laughed.
"Damn, I'm not used to you being so open!" George answered. "Is it on your list?"
"Uhm..." Dream hesitated.
"IT IS?!" George was baffled. "Well. I'm always open to take your adult film virginity," George smirked.
"Thanks for the offer, dumbass." Dream rolled his eyes.
"No problem, love! You'll crack eventually..."
[A/n: George is my favorite character in this entire thing. He is so sassy its amazing lmao]
