We Must Get Out of Death Valley

Chapter 3: Night of Death

"Open the door, I killed it." Angelina said. They backed away from the door, and Angelina burst through it. "Why would you guys vote me into this thing with Matt! I loved him, and now he's dead!" Angelina said. "I'm sorry, we had to do it, you two didn't do anything." Ava said. "I watched him get cut into 2 fu-" The clock donged, meaning it was 10 o clock. "-ing pieces!" Angelina finished. "Well it was either your little boy toy who does nothing dies or someone who is actually helping us escape this place dies." Brodie snapped. "I get this is hard for you, but we need to move on if we want to go back home." Jobe said. There was now a name on the door of the room Matt died in. It said 'Thusula'. They guessed that was the name of the horrendous monster. A card slipped through the crack between the door and the floor of the room. Jobe picked it up to read it. "There is a place for you to put the stones while you wait to get all of them." "Go to the lobby and there will be a place to put all the stones. Remember that if you collect all of them, you will have to put all of them in the Death Valley sign outside." "Let's go to the lobby then." Jessie said. "Okay, follow me." Soterio said. They all followed him to the lobby and went down lots of stairs. There was a box on a table in the room. The box was a maroon color and there was a circle-ish thing with roots stretching all around the box that were gold. It had red lights on it that resembled eyes and something in Greek lettering on top of it. Angelina put the first stone inside and a green glow went through all the cracks and runes in the box. There was a loud bang, and then they heard the tune of a lullaby playing. There was a card on it that Elijah grabbed. They looked outside of the room, and they saw that there were blue and yellow pairs of big pajamas, with stars and moon decorations on them. There were some in the kitchen, some on the stairs, some in the lobby, some in the foyer. They were everywhere. They thought they had to put them on, but when they would touch them it would feel like touching fire. The stars on one pair started glowing, and then something solid came up, resembling the figure of a person. Not a person, it was something else. It looked like it was made of rock. And it had what looked like stitches on its face. It had sharp teeth, and long thin arms, with witch-y claws. Long legs and elf-like shoes. Its eyes glowed a light blue color, but its most distinct characteristic was its smile. It looked so happy but so said at the same time. The stitches on its face made it look like it was smiling all the time. When it came up from the pajamas fully, it muttered something. "De..." They ran out back to the ballroom when they saw it. It moved towards them slowly and then gave up. It disappeared and then appeared in front of them outside, from another pair of pajamas. They ran past it and ran into the ballroom, locking the door behind them. Ava unhooked her dress and laid it on the floor so it would be easier to run around. Ella, and Nene did the same, being the only ones who were wearing big gowns. Soterio blasted energy at all of the walls. "I am putting a protection spell on the room!" He was struggling. "It won't last for long though. Its power is stronger than mine!" The pair of pajamas that was in the room was starting to inflate like the others did, just slower. Elijah read what was on the card in his hand. "Lunus can't teleport all around the estate if you find every pair of pajamas and put it in the same place. If anyone has gloves, use them. There are 15 pairs all around the estate. When you find them all they will all merge together to form a key. Lunus won't be able to teleport anymore, he will only be able to walk." "Soterio, can you use your power to help us find the pajamas?" Lily asked. "Yes." His eyes started glowing and he led them to each pair. They found all of them and then put them all on top of each other. They shrunk down into a key and changed to a golden color. Gavin picked it up and they walked to the lobby to vote. In the lobby was a note card that read: This time around in the death challenge will be a twist. Two will have to go into it this time, but they will have to pick someone of the opposite gender to help them. The rest will come to you. They all looked at each other. "I hate having to do this." Ella said. "I am sorry but there is no other way." Soterio said. "It is time." They all voted. "The 2 people going in are, Angelina, and Elijah." Soterio said. "Are you serious! I've been helping so much! Why are you voting me in!" Elijah exclaimed in anger. No one said Anything. They didn't have a reason, one of them didn't know who else to vote. So they chose him. "Ugh! I hate you all!" "I survived last time! And now your just gonna throw me in again! What is wrong with you all!" Angelina said. "One of us!" She said while motioning with her finger to her and Elijah. "Is going to die!" She finished. "My boyfriend was cut into 2 pieces because of you all!" She was angry. This was the worst night of her life. "I hope I lose so that when I die, I can haunt you!" "Choose someone to aid you." Said Soterio. "Brodie." Elijah said. "Gavin." Angelina said. They unlocked the door and the four of them walked inside. There was sand under them, and a giant blue flower in front of them. There was a panel with controls on the left and right side of the room. Angelina and Elijah sunk into the ground. "What the f-" Elijah was interrupted. "There are controllers on the panels beside you. You must control Lunus to get his hands off of their legs." "Every ten seconds, he will pull them down an inch." Pandora said. "See you soon..." She giggled Evil-y and disappeared. They had to use the control panel to get Lunus to let go of them. Gavin pressed a red button. "Ah!" "Whatever you did, burnt me!" Angelina said. Brodie moved a gear. His legs felt like they were slashed with a knife. He screamed in pain and threw sand at Brodie. "Don't do that!" Elijah exclaimed. Gavin pressed a blue button. "Angelina's leg felt like it froze. Not figuratively, literally. Her whole body started to freeze. Brodie moved a handle around and Lunus let go of Elijah from under the ground, and he jumped out of the sand. Lunus jumped out of the sand, holding Angelina. He held Angelina in the air, his hand gripping her stomach. He closed in his hands. Again, and again, and again. He let go and Angelina's body fell into the sand. Vines reached out of the flower and Lunus suffered the same fate as Angelina, being crushed to death. They were all in shock from what they had just witnessed. They all stood still for a moment, and then Brodie walked slowly and picked the stone out of its head. They walked through the door, and everyone was happy that Elijah survived.
