"Hard no. It's completely flat, and I can basically see across it." Techno squinted his eyes in the glare of the bright sunlight. They had already passed two of the islands and ruled them out as impossible to be the one with the treasure.
"You've got to be fucking kidding me," Tommy groaned in annoyance. He turned his back to the railing and slid down to sit on the hard, wooden floor of the deck.
"Oh, come on, Tommy," Phil mused, "we've only seen three of them. There's probably many more for us to check."
"Besides, who said it would be as easy as just looking at the islands?" Fundy added.
"Fine." The blonde pulled himself back up to his feet and leaned his elbows on the railing, propping his head on them. Techno chuckled to himself as he turned the wheel to the right.
Tubbo was up in the crow's nest. Over the course of the morning, he had grown tired and decided to sit on the wood platform. The brunet could still see his surroundings with ease as he scanned each approaching island. The hopeful feeling in his gut would rise only to drop back down again.
The boy could soon spot another island in the near distance. From what he could see, it was somewhat round in shape and the sandy shores quickly shifted into thick jungle that violently curved upwards in a steep slope. As the ship continued around it, Tubbo felt a strange burst of curiosity.
There was something off about the island's landscape. The thoughts started streaming through the boy's mind as he began to realize the solution to the questions scattered in his many thoughts. An island swallowed. Swallowed as in surrounded. As in an island surrounded by another larger island.
"I've got it!" Tubbo suddenly shouted. He scrambled to the ladder and began to climb down as quickly as he could. The other four watched him curiously. The boy jumped down once he was close enough and ran to the upper deck.
"That's the one." He pointed to the island to the right of their ship. "That's where our treasure is."
"That one? How do you know?" Techno asked. He could feel the excitement building inside of him and his heart beginning to race.
"The riddle says the island is swallowed. Well, in a way, it is. A ring of land is surrounding a second smaller island, hiding it from view. See how we can't see past the top of the slope of the forest? I bet you there's another island."
Phil's eyes widened. "Tubbo. You absolute fucking genius."
"Techno! Turn the ship! Turn us towards it!" Tommy exclaimed loudly. He grabbed hold of the brunet's shoulders and shook them affectionately. "Let's fucking go, Tubbo!"
The brunet grinned at his friend. "We're going to find that treasure."
"We are, indeed," Fundy added with a smile, coming to stand beside them. "We're going to finish Wilbur's final adventure."
The ship soon slowed to a stop. The pigman left the wheel and stepped down from the upper deck to approach the others. "The water's too shallow for the ship," Techno announced, "and it's too shallow for the rafts as well. We have to walk over."
"Seriously?" Tommy questioned in surprise, "how is it too shallow? The fuck? That doesn't make sense."
"Just look." The pink-haired male gestures to the water below. Tommy glanced over reluctantly. "The sand slopes up suddenly, so it goes from deep water to shallow water really quickly."
"Want me to grab the ladder?" Phil asked. Techno nodded, so the winged man walked across the deck and returned with a long wooden ladder. He fastened it over the edge of the ship so the other end dipped below the water's surface.
