Chapter 11

"Ash wake up," I heard Ethan's deep rumbling voice. I growled half asleep trying to get him to leave me alone.
"We have school Ash c'mon, it's your first day!" Ethan said enthusiastically. I bolted up angrily with an over exaggerating roar and Ethan stared at me like I was crazy. I started laughing like a lunatic because I was too tired to laugh normally. I groaned and rolled around on his bed. Ethan grabbed my arm and pulled me right off.
"Owww," I complained lazily, "Ethan Grant Dolan!" He started laughing at me and pulled me to my feet. He went downstairs leaving me by myself. I sighed and went to the bathroom to do my business and brush my teeth. I came out and looked through the clothes I bought the other day. I wanted to make a good impression, so I grabbed high waisted jeans, a crop top, and a flannel. I put on a bunch of rings because I just like rings, and went back to the bathroom to do a little makeup. I put on a winged eyeliner, some concealer, and one of my thousand lip glosses. I blew a kiss to my reflection and winked trying to act sexy because confidence is key. I giggled and immediately stopped cause I felt like I was being weird. Then again nobody was watching.
"Nice," I heard a voice laugh. Well I was wrong.
"Gray," I laughed, "you saw nothing!"
"Riiight," Gray winked at me. I clicked my tongue and shook my head. I walked out and grabbed my pretty much empty backpack and my gym bag. Gray followed me out of the room and downstairs where breakfast awaited.
"Thanks Ethan!" I smiled gratefully at him. He answered with a simple yet heart melting wink causing me to blush. I tried shaking it off. Like literally started shaking in my seat.
"Um..." Gray said weirded out. He started to laugh and Ethan joined him. I pretended that nothing happened and started to eat my food while they just looked at me in confusion.
"If she's always like that when it's this early, then this is going to be fun," Gray commented. I held a smirk back and ate my food.
"Hurry up we have to leave for the bus!" Ethan complained.
"Okay okay I'm almost done gosh," I said taking my last few bites.
"Okay, let's go," I mumbled through a mouth full of food.
"Finally," Gray said jokingly. I put on my white high top converse with colorful socks that reached a little over the shoes.
"Nicee," I said to myself.
"Oh god," Ethan muttered slightly smiling. Gray opened the door and Ethan and I walked out with Gray following. We walked down the end of the street and waited with some other kids. One boy was chatting with the twins while I stood there looking all awkward. He smiled at me and I returned it nervously.
"Hey Ash, this is our friend Ryan. Ryan, Ash," Ethan said happily. I smiled at him again but he stuck out his hand this time. I cupped it and it turned into a bro hug. I'm literally so proud I didn't even mess up and do some weird hand thing. I started laughing and so did Ryan.
"That was pretty cool man," Ryan said to me. I smirked and shook my head.
"Well they're going to get along," Gray said.
"Yea..." Ethan mumbled looking away. I wonder if he's upset because of me and Ryan? But I mean we just met so...
"I've heard a lot about you," Ryan said.
"Oh really?" I smirked at the twins.
"Yea yea! Ethan was right," Ryan waved his eyebrows at Ethan while he blushed and looked away.
"What," I burst out laughing.
"Back off," Gray said jokingly rude. Ryan out his hands up in surrender and stepped back. I heard the noises of the bus and looked up to see it pulling closer to us. We boarded the bus and some other kids were already there. A few greeted the twins but just ignored me. Oh well. I sighed and sat on the inside of a seat. Ethan came and sat next to me. I smiled slightly and I hooked my arm around his.
He laughed and said," Okay then, and by the way you have all your classes with me." I looked at him with a surprised look and he just smiled happily at me.
"How did you do that?" I asked.
"I asked them too," Ethan said proudly. "Good job Ethan," I said playfully. He took out his earbuds and phone and plugged it in. He gave one ear to me and one for himself and he turned on "Trap Queen." I love the song but I personally just think it's funny to listen too. I started laughing when it began and Ethan just shook his head at me and held back a smile. The whole ride was just a happy warm moment.

I walked out of the Principals office with Ethan and shuddered.
"I know right," Ethan said. I laughed and nodded.
"He's scary," I laughed nervously. I followed Ethan through the hallways trying to remember the way. Ethan turned to one door and opened it slowly. I swallowed and my heart raced. The door opened to a teacher and a bunch of kids staring. I took a deep breath while Ethan was talking to the teacher.
"Alright guys we have a new student named...?" She smiled politely.
"Ash Dolan," I tried saying loudly but still ended up quiet. I heard murmuring arise from the students.
"Dolan??" They were all whispering to each other. I get it though, they didn't know the twins adopted a girl the same age.
"Interesting," the teacher said, "do you just happen to have the same last name?"
"Um, it's complicated," I smiled nervously. She nodded in understand meant and Ethan led me to his desk and I took one beside it. I silently listened to the teacher talk about a topic the other kids already studied for almost the whole class.
"Hey," I heard a whisper. I turned to see a really pretty black girl smiling perfect white teeth.
"Hey," I whispered back and returned the smile nervously.
"I'm Tyra," She said kindly.
"Ash," I smiled happily. I'm making a friend already!
"Alright! So since you guys know that you can do group work for the rest of class," Mrs. Holster said. I wasn't even paying attention. What subject is this again? Tyra scooted her desk face to face with mine and Ethan moved his to the side. I smiled at this quick friendship and wondered where Tyra was at in this school. She didn't seem rude or anything so she's probably not popular. Stop! I always think like this. That's just a stereotype she could be nice and popular at the same time. I glanced at Ethan and he was looking at me with a tiny little smile. I blushed and looked around.
"So Ash where ya from?" Tyra asked.
"Same place but I was downtown," I answered not really knowing the exact place.
"Ohhh okay I got you," She winked at me. I giggled and rolled my eyes. She's really friendly for like her first three sentences to me. I think we're going to be pretty good friends.
"Hey uh do you guys actually know what we're doing?" Ethan whispered. I laughed and replied, "same." Tyra shrugged.
"Don't you always know what's going on Ethan?" Tyra asked suspiciously.
"Yea but I mean I was distracted and stuff..." Ethan mumbled. I chuckled and read my paper over and over until I finally understood. I didn't realize by the time I understood class was already over. Yea...math isn't my best. I sighed in frustration and stuffed my papers in my bag. I looked around for Ethan, who all of a sudden disappeared and speed walked out of the class trying to find him. I felt slightly embarrassed of the people looking at me while I was searching for him. Suddenly, I felt something grab my arm and I took a step back, turned around, and hit face to face with Ethan. I fixed myself immediately and cleared my throat, embarrassed.
"Ahem um well," I stuttered.
"We're going to be late Ash," Ethan laughed pulling me the opposite way I was going and speed walked to our class. We walked in while the bell was ringing and I sighed of relief. Ethan walked over to his seat but I stayed by the teacher's desk. He waved his hand telling me to come over but I shook my head. I mean I had to inform the teacher I was here. After a minute of standing by the desk awkwardly with staring eyes on me, the teacher finally came hustling in. I gulped as the teacher started introducing me to the class, great I'm going to deal with this all day. I walked confidently to an empty seat next one away from Ethan. The teacher introduced a new topic to the class, we were learning genetics. Finally, science, something I'm good at. I listened picking up easily and took notes in a journal the teacher gave me. After what felt a short class but was actually my longest, it was time for lunch. I packed my journal and other stuff into my bag and looked up to see Ethan waiting for me. I looked down with a little blush and swung my bag over my shoulders.
"So who do you eat with?" I asked Ethan as we walked down the hall.
"Mmm Grayson, Ryan, Joey, Johnson, Will, some other guys I'm not very close with. We sit at the same table as Tyra and her friends too but kind of separated by our groups," He explained.
"Oh! Good so I can sit next to both of you," I said happily.
"Yea," He smiled. I followed Ethan to a crowded table near the front corner of the cafeteria. I didn't exactly know where to sit so I awkwardly placed my stuff next to Ethan.
"Hey Ash!" I heard someone chirp. I turned around and saw Tyra smiling sweetly.
"Oh hey!" I smiled back, this time less nervously.
"You can sit here if you want," she offered opening up a seat next to her.
"Yea sure," I said happily. Wow today might not be so bad. I picked up my stuff and replaced it across the table next to Tyra.
"I'm going to get my lunch now," I told her. She nodded as I walked into line. I got some chicken nuggets, a banana, and a water bottle. I walked quickly back to my seat and there were 6 other girls siting there. I sat down and smiled nervously at them.
"This is Ash guys she's new," Tyra said.
"I'm Madison," one smiled awkwardly.
"Hi I am Ann!" another said loudly. I giggled and the others introduced themselves.
"I'm Kayla."
"Layla," one said flatly. I don't think she likes me...
"HEY ASH!" I heard Ethan's voice. I turned my head and scrunched my eyebrows at him.
"Hi?" I questioned giggling. I saw Ryan and Gray and smiled at them. I started to eat my food and talked about random things with the other girls. Carefully choosing what to say so I didn't seem weird. I finished my small amount of food quickly and threw it away. I got out my phone and checked all my social media.
"Hey what's your insta?" Tyra asked. "Oh it's just ashxdolan," I answered. The other girls got out their phones and asked what it was again. I soon got a bunch of follow request from them and I accepted and followed them all back.
"So-," Madison started but got cut off by the bell. She huffed and grabbed her things.
"See ya!" She yelled quickly rushing away. I waved at her and the other girls leaving. I scanned the cafeteria and found Ethan by the stage talking to some girl. Hmm. I walked over to them and she glared at me. Oh she so liked him great.
"Hey Ash," Ethan said noticing me and putting his arm around my shoulders.
"Hi," I said nicely to the girl.
"Bye Ethan text me!" She smiled sweetly at him completely ignoring me. I rolled my eyes and clenched my jaw.
"Let's go," I muttered. We walked to class and I didn't notice Ethan still had his arm around me and a lot of girls were glaring. I bet a lot of girls like him and Gray. We walked into class and saw Ryan and Gray. That's strange usually twins aren't in the same class. I smiled happily and took a seat next to them.
"Ash Dolan?" I heard someone call. I looked around the room and caught the teacher's eye. Oh! I walked up to her and shook her hand. She introduced herself and seemed really nice. She's going to be that one teacher I just know it. For the first 10 minutes of class we talked about everything NOT related to social studies. We talked about the most random things and some topics were even inappropriate and Mrs. Williams didn't even care! In fact, she chatted along with us. She was awesome! Before I knew it the class was over and I kept thinking how much fun this class is going to be. I went to writing class, and then athletics and finally my first day was over. I walked outside around the school heading to my bus when I saw her. That girl flirting with Ethan earlier. She made eye contact with me and strutted over and crossed her arms. I knew what was coming and I would have to just control myself.
"Hey new girl," she said rudely.
"Hello," I said not wanting to talk to her.
"Are you and Ethan dating?" she asked. I didn't answer and continued walking.
"Um hello?! I am talking to you," she stated.
"Yes, I am," I blurted out. My face blushed and I tried to cover up my lie.
"I thought Ethan would have better taste honestly," she said in disgust and walked away. Oh shiz, she's walking up to Ethan.
