Eleanor went to bed a couple of hours later with a head full of giddy thoughts. She swore her lips were still tingling with the anticipation of almost kissing Charlie. Not that would have been a bad thing. She also couldn't get over the way he'd placed a gentle hand against the side of her face and kissed her cheek when he left her. Nobody had ever pulled a move like that on her, and she was definitely swooning. He'd promised to stop by tomorrow to get a bit of the cake they'd made together after she assured him it was edible. She had absolutely no idea what was going on with the two of them, but whatever it was, it was igniting feelings she didn't even know she was capable of. Her stomach was a constant mess of butterflies, she felt breathless and her entire body was constantly warm. She couldn't stop thinking about him; his broad, muscular frame, the warmth of his body, his scent,  his large, rough hands, his scars. He truly was intoxicating.

By the time Charlie made it home, Angelina had left and he found George sprawled out across the sofa in the flat. He was listening to some music whilst looking over some paperwork for the shop. Fred had never been one to take the paperwork seriously, so George was rather used to that sort of stuff.

"I wondered where you'd got to," George called out as Charlie walked through the door.

"Yeah, well just remember that there's a silencing charm for a reason, buddy. Use it next time," he grimaced in response.

George blushed a bit, but let out a loud laugh. "Where've you been all this time anyway?".

Charlie slipped off his boots and coat before flopping down into the chair adjacent to George. He let out a deep sigh and knocked his head back against the cushions. He wasn't sure himself whether it was a sigh of contentment or frustration. He was completely elated to have spent the evening with Eleanor. Everything about it was wonderful. She made baking, something he'd never taken a remote interest in, seem like the best thing in the world. But he was also a little disappointed with himself. He promised himself, for Eleanor's sake, that he would take things slowly. He didn't want to rush into anything as a way to prove to her that she could trust him after the date fiasco, and he was worried that he'd messed things up by almost kissing her. He was concerned that she would be thinking that's all he thought about. He was powerless around her, though. It was as though she were magnetised, helplessly drawing him in without even realising. At the age of 28, Charlie had never felt his heart beat as erratically as it did when she was around... and he worked with dragons.

"Alright what's wrong?" George coaxed as he watched his older brother zone out. He was clearly deep in thought and by the way he was frowning, it was bothering him.

Charlie lifted his head up and looked at George before relenting. He'd never been one to talk about feelings or dating with any of his brothers, but if he was going to, he decided that George would be the best person to talk to considering he knew Eleanor first. It didn't stop him from feeling silly though.
"I was with Ellie this evening," he began, not able to keep his mouth from lifting into a small smile despite the predicament he felt he was in.

"What? That's awesome!" George said eagerly. "How did that happen?".

"By sheer luck," Charlie laughed in disbelief. "Went for a walk to get away from you two and I saw her across the street. Walked her back and we ended up baking a cake,". As he said the words he knew that George would have a field day teasing him. Charlie was a notoriously terrible cook never having taken an interest in anything of the sort.

"Bloody hell," George guffawed, sitting bolt upright with a look of elation on his face. "She's got you hook, line and sinker!" he continued laughing.

"Oh piss off," Charlie grunted, standing up about to leave the room as his younger brother killed himself with laughter. He regretted ever telling George anything now.
