A slightly longer, super-cheesy chapter for you. I want my own Charlie :'( <3
"Did you have a nice snog?" Darcie asked Eleanor after she'd seen Charlie out.
Eleanor whirled around, her cheeks still aflame and lips a tiny bit swollen. "Pardon?".
"Oh come off it!" Darcie giggled. "I came to ask you something and I saw the two of you. It's about bloody time!".
She was sure she'd never been quite so embarrassed- now would be a really good time for the ground to swallow her up. "I don't know what you mean," she squeaked, even though she'd already been caught out and it was blindingly obvious from the state of her.
"So when is he taking you out then?".
Unable to contain the smile that desperately wanted to present itself, Eleanor paced back towards the counter and sighed dreamily. "Tonight, actually,".
"You never did answer my question..." Finn spoke up, reminding the two of them that he was in fact still there. "Was he the buff dragon man?".
"That certainly was him," Darcie nodded exaggeratedly. "So where is he taking you?".
"I don't know," she fretted. "He just said to dress warm and he'll pick me up at 7!".
Mild panic had already begun to settle in. This was it. It was finally happening! Eleanor was beyond excited but a pit of nervousness was bubbling away in her stomach. She still had a few hours of her working day to get through and many bakes to make, but Charlie Weasley had come in and completely derailed her thoughts in the best possible way. How was she supposed to concentrate when all she could think about was that kiss?
Charlie was in a rather similar state himself, although he didn't exactly have to work. Instead, he insisted on sitting in the office with George as he did some paperwork, much to George's dismay.
"Will you stop smiling to yourself?" George grumbled. "It's creepy,".
"Oh shut it," Charlie laughed. "If anything, it's your fault. You told me to do it,".
"Is this what I have to put up with now? You being all gooey? Didn't know you had it in you...".
"I'm not gooey!" Charlie insisted. But he was. He was truly smitten, and he didn't actually care who knew it. He sat in the chair, one leg resting on top of the other, as he fiddled with the ring on his finger. He couldn't quite get his head around the fact that Eleanor had kissed him. All while he was choking on his words about wanting to take her on a date, too. Granted she probably did it to shut him up, but he was ecstatic nonetheless. In all his life, no other experience had ever come close to how that felt for him. It had his stomach stirring in a way he'd never felt before, his entire body feeling like it was on fire as she gripped onto him. He wished he could bottle the feeling and keep it forever.
"I can practically hear your horny thoughts from over here," George muttered, not looking up from the parchment he was writing on.
Charlie couldn't help it as a laugh escaped him. "Fuck off, mate,".
"Shouldn't you be getting ready or something?".
"Oh how the tables have turned, little brother," Charlie chided, standing up and walking behind George to ruffle his hair. "Who's the grumpy old man now?".
"Merlin if I knew you'd be this annoying I'd never have suggested asking her out,".
Charlie simply laughed again and left the room with a wink to head up to the flat. There were still ages til their date but he needed to think of something special to do.
