You know how in movies and books the girl wakes up looking like a supermodel, stretching her arms, and waking up with a big ol' smile on her face?
Yeah well I got the complete opposite. I woke up to Lily poking my face, Daniel complaining about how hungry he was, Jackson pulling the curtains apart, and Macey yelling at them to be quiet because I was sleeping.
I sighed and gently sat up and placed Lily on my lap. I kissed her on the head.
"Hey baby girl you sleep well?" I asked Lily. She excitedly nodded and smiled. "Me hungry."
I looked at everybody else and asked, "Well I guess you guys are too?"
Jackson smiled at me sheepishly. "Yeah, but sorry we didn't want to wake you, but someone is impatient."
"Well yeah I'm impatient! I'm a growing boy Jackson! Do you know what that means? It means that I need food! Food loves me just like I love food. We're basically married!" Daniel cried dramatically while holding his stomach.
Jackson, Macey, and I laughed while Lily giggled and clapped her hands. "Alright Daniel. Just let me get dressed then we'll head out." I said while standing up and placing Lily on the bed.
I walked in the bathroom and left the kids arguing about who's better, Superman or Batman.
After taking a quick shower I changed into the pair of pants and a plain white t-shirt with the jacket that Jackson thankfully brought me yesterday.
Stepping out of the bathroom I froze at what I saw.
Jackson was on the ground wrapped up in the curtain.
Macey was leaning against the wall and taking video with my phone. She froze in mid laugh. Daniel was poking Jackson with one of the curtain rods. My sweet, innocent Lily was climbing on top of the bed and jumping off the bed and landing on Jackson.
I put my hands on my hips and glared at Jackson. "I was gone for ten minutes. Ten minutes Jackson! How in the world did you manage to get beat by kids? What kind of police officer are you!"
Jackson laughed nervously. "Well.. uh.. you see Love.. It's all Macey's fault! It was her idea!"
Macey's mouth dropped. "No it wasn't you filthy liar! I hope your pants catch on fire!"
I face palmed and muttered under my breath. "I'm stuck with a bunch of idiots."
Clapping my hands I said, "Settle down children! It's time to hit the road. We have been here for too long and I don't like it."
Mumbling a few not so nice words Jackson successfully managed to untangle himself with help from the kids.
I put Lily on my hips and together with Jackson and the kids we walked out to return the key.
"Crap!" I exclaimed halfway down the hall.
Jackson looked at me. "What's wrong Love?"
Sighing I said, "We forgot to change our appearances."
